Officers with the High Springs Police Department stated that Flaitz who is a short order cook at Bev’s Café in High Springs asked a 15 year old patron if he wanted a hamburger cooked in Rick Simpson Oil ( RSO) to which the teen reportedly said yes.

The teen ate the burger late Friday night just before the café closed. High Springs Officers went to the boys home to check on his well-being and found him laying face down in his bed, unable to move, and turning gray in color. The teen was transported to Shand’s Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville where the teen was found to have high levels of THC in his blood.

According to their website, Rick Simpson Oil is marketed as a THC based cancer treatment.

Since 2009, Simpson Foundation has helped thousands of patients and their families win the battle against cancer using Rick Simpson Oil (RSO). Our proprietary formula is both rich in THC and over 100+ cannabinoids, making it powerful enough to combat stage I-IV cancer.

Rick Simpson’s self-healing journey has now become a worldwide phenomenon. Countless medical studies have now revealed that cannabinoids in Rick Simpson Oil destroys and stops the growth of cancer through a process called apoptosis.

The teen was treated at Shand’s and released early the next day.

Flaitz admitted to police that he put some Rick Simpson Oil on the top of the teen’s burger. He was transported to the Alachua County Jail and charged with child neglect.
