2Former President Donald Trump issued a stern warning on Friday that there could be “potential death and destruction” if he is charged next week regarding the Stormy Daniels hush money case. Trump originally posted to Truth Social last weekend that he would be indicted on Tuesday, according to “illegal leaks.” However, the New York grand jury is continuing its probe, and it is unclear if the former president will still be indicted. Trump has accused Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg of prosecutorial misconduct and alleges that he is at the center of an extortion plot.
Early Friday morning, Trump wrote on Truth Social,
“What kind of person can charge another person, in this case a former President of the United States, who got more votes than any sitting President in history, and leading candidate (by far!) for the Republican Party nomination, with a Crime, when it is known by all that NO Crime has been committed, & also known that potential death & destruction in such a false charge could be catastrophic for our Country?”

After suggesting that violence could potentially follow an indictment, Trump asked, “Why & who would do such a thing?” before adding, “Only a degenerate psychopath that truely hates the USA!” in reference to D.A. Alvin Bragg. Trump has described Bragg as a “rogue prosecutor” and “human scum.”
“PROSECUTORIAL MISCONDUCT!” he tweeted later Friday morning.
Trump has maintained that he is innocent. He has kept up his attacks on Bragg throughout the week, urging him to drop his “witch hunt,” and calling upon Republicans to hold the district attorney accountable.
“Isn’t it terrible that D.A. Bragg refuses to do the right thing and ‘call it a day?,'” Trump posted on Thursday.
“He would rather indict an innocent man and create years of hatred, chaos, and turmoil, than give him his well deserved ‘freedom.’ The whole Country sees what is going on, and they’re not going to take it anymore. They’ve had enough! There was no Error made, No Misdemeanor, No Crime and, above all, NO CASE. They spied on my campaign, Rigged the Election, falsely Impeached, cheated and lied. They are HUMAN SCUM!”
On Saturday, Trump called upon his supporters to rally against the “fairytale” investigation,
“PROTEST. TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK.”
Despite rumors that Trump would be indicted and arrested this week, the New York grand jury probe has wrapped for the week, with plans to resume on Monday. A critical blow was dealt to the investigation on Wednesday after new evidence undercut critical witness testimony.

Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen alleged that his former boss misappropriated campaign funds during the 2016 election to cover a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels. However, a letter from Cohen’s own lawyer in 2018 details that Cohen paid Daniels out of his pocket and was not reimbursed by Trump or his campaign.
“EVERYBODY KNOWS I’M 100% INNOCENT, INCLUDING BRAGG, BUT HE DOESN’T CARE,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account Thursday morning.
“HE IS JUST CARRYING OUT THE PLANS OF THE RADICAL LEFT LUNATICS. OUR COUNTRY IS BEING DESTROYED, AS THEY TELL US TO BE PEACEFUL!”
