According to a Facebook news release from the local sheriff’s office, two men were arrested for stealing mail over a period spanning from October to the present. They are currently in the Marion County jail and facing federal charges.
According to Marion County Sheriff’s Office, for approximately three months, Jax & Goodman used a postal key “on multiple occasions” to access U.S. Postal Service (USPS) collection boxes.
This week, deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office aviation unit, along with U.S. Postal Inspectors, teamed up to conduct surveillance of Jax and Goodman.

The newly released video shows how the two were taken down in Ocala Tuesday night at around 11:30 p.m. Jax’s car is seen from above stopping in front of a “blue box” that contains mail for pickup.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office released police video of two suspects being arrested after being surveilled stealing from mailboxes in front of businesses.
“OK, he’s entering the box,” says an aviation deputy in the video. “He’s removing items from the items and putting them in the backseat of the car.”
The aviation unit then follows the car, which stops near a Publix. One of the suspects gets out, opens another mailbox, takes something out, and gets back in the car with it. A few seconds after Jax and Goodman leave the second location, multiple police cars approach, and the two are arrested.

Jordan Jax and Tarod Goodman were transported to the Marion County Jail. They are currently held without bond awaiting pickup and transport to a federal holding facility by the U.S. Marshal’s Service. Since the theft involves the U.S. Mail, the two will be charged with federal crimes by the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida.
