Biden Admin Adding ‘Unspecified Gender Identity’ Option to Immigration Forms
President Biden’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced during “trans day of visibility” that it would no longer require consistent ‘gender identity’ documents for people applying to immigrate to the United States. In effect, potential applicants can now change their gender on necessary immigration forms without any affirming evidence or information being required.
Though Biden’s day of visibility actions was primarily lip service – including condemning the now disproved “epidemic of violence against trans people” – The Biden administration also added “x” gender to official U.S. immigration documents, representing an “unspecified” gender.
“U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is updating policy guidance in the USCIS policy manual to clarify that, effective immediately, USCIS will accept the self-identified gender marker for individuals requesting immigration benefits. The gender marker they select does not need to match the gender marker indicated on their supporting documentation,” – USCIS

The USCIS ended the announcement by attributing the decision to the recent pro-equity orders of the president.
Through subsequent listening sessions with DHS, stakeholders have further highlighted how this policy change will remove barriers and reduce burdens for applicants and petitioners, in accordance with President Biden’s Executive Order 14012, Restoring Faith in Our Legal Immigration Systems and Strengthening Integration and Inclusion Efforts for New Americans. In addition, this furthers DHS efforts under Executive Order 13988, Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation, and Executive Order 14091,
Transgender people are some of the bravest Americans I know. But no person should have to be brave just to live in safety and dignity.
Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, I renew my commitment to building a healthy, safe, free, and just future for trans people everywhere. https://t.co/sR5pHvkSHU

The soon-to-be outdated immigration forms currently contain two genders: male and female. The only exception to this new policy would be if an individual were re-requesting information.
The change follows in the footsteps of the State Department, which also recently made gender-based adjustments allowing U.S. citizens to change their gender on passports without medical documentation to support it. Citizens can now choose between “male,” “female,” and “x” on their immigration documents.
The effort appears to be a part of the Biden administration’s new goal of normalizing transgenderism. This controversial effort has seen a mountain of actions, including the signing of dozens of executive orders focusing on helping only underserved communities, appointing transgender Rachel Levine as an admiral/cabinet member, and, most notably, refusing to acknowledge speculation that last week’s Nashville school shooting, committed by a transgender, was an anti-christian hate crime.
The actions of President Biden come just after Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre sparked outrage with comments defending transgenderism in the wake of the Nashville school shooting.

The last few weeks have seen increasing tension between conservatives and the pro-trans left, with the latter invading the Tennessee capitol and attacking legislators on Thursday afternoon. In response, the Democrats and their supporters have reinforced their support for transgenderism, passing several “trans refuge” bills in Democrat-run states.
As the tension continues to rise and violence becomes more widespread, President Biden and his cabinet seem intent on reshaping the federal government to better appeal to transgenderism.
