The case started in Brevard County where Harris lives. Brevard Deputies attempted a traffic stop on Harris for an out of state warrant from Arkansas. It seems he had a little trouble up there. Harris allegedly threatened to kill his co-workers after being fired back in March. He reportedly waved a gun and threatened to shoot a few of them.

Harris did not stop for Brevard deputies. Tod Goodyear with the Brevard Sheriff’s office stated “At that point, he did not stop. He just continued driving.” Harris got onto the westbound State Road 528 and started heading for Orlando.

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers, the Brevard Sheriff’s office helicopter, as well as multiple patrol units from the Brevard and Orange County Sheriff’s office chased Harris in his Kia Soul into Orange County at speeds of around 75 – 80 mph.

An FHP Trooper then initiated a PIT maneuver which spun Harris into the guard rail. Before a 2nd trooper could block him in, Harris got turned around and took off. The same trooper pitted him again, and this time the chase was over.

Harris exited the vehicle with his hands in the air. Troopers conducted a felony stop and ordered Harris to walk backwards to them and then put the bracelets on him.

Harris was charged with fleeing & eluding a law enforcement officer, driving without a license in Brevard and Orange counties, as well as the original warrant for failure to appear in Arkansas on three counts of terroristic threatening and criminal mischief.
