According to Titusville Police, Field has been staying at the Siesta Hotel since June. Field walked up to Wade, and a female at the hotel, possibly Wade’s wife, pulled out a pistol and shot Wade. Field then pointed the gun at the woman and attempted to shoot her too, but the gun jammed.
The woman who was with Wade at the time of the shooting told police that there was no argument between Wade and Field beforehand. Field then ran to his car and fled the area. Titusville police caught up with him a couple of miles from the hotel on Forest Road. When Titusville officers attempted to make contact with Field, he raised his pistol at responding officers and fired. One of the officers returned fire at Field.

According to the arrest affidavit, several witnesses stated Field then took his pistol and shot himself in the head. Field was transported to the hospital for his injuries.
Fortunately, none of the responding Titusville Police Department officers were hurt.
Mark Wade, Daniel’s brother, told Orlando News 6 that the gunman had been a guest staying in room number 3 since June, and Daniel Wade couldn’t have been nicer to him. He said that his brother threw the now-suspected killer a birthday party the week prior to the shooting.
“Danny found out that he didn’t have any family here to celebrate his birthday, and so Danny and his wife, Mimi, fixed him a birthday cake and got some of the other guests together and had him a birthday party, and he was so appreciative.”
In an update by police, Field was released from the hospital and is in custody at the Brevard County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
