California Man De’Sean Allen-Eikens, 22, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, and a Division I college basketball player for the California State University, Northridge men’s basketball team, got a ride to the Broward County Jail and is facing felony charges after he was bounced out of the Rock Bar on Los Olas Beach and then punched an Ft. Lauderdale Police Officer.

Bodycam video shows a security staffer at the Rock Bar tackling and punching Allen-Eikens, then Fort Lauderdale police officer Joseph Perez intervenes in the dispute.
The dispute goes outside with a friend of Allen-Eikens trying to convince him to leave and Perez telling him to go home while pushing Allen-Eikens back as he got too close to Perez.
Officer Perez wrote in his arrest affidavit that Allen-Eikens, who appeared to be intoxicated, struck his hands down from his body, then punched Perez two times in the face, causing Perez to hit him back.
The initial confrontation between Allen-Eikens and the officer is obscured in the video.
In the bodycam video, after being taken to the ground by Perez, Allen-Eikens says, “all right, I’m going home, I’m going home.”
Then he asks Perez to get off his chest.
“I can’t breathe, sir,” Allen-Eikens is heard saying on the video.
Then, he asks why he was handcuffed.
“What did I do?” Allen-Eikens asks.
“You hit me in the face,” Perez is heard replying.
“Who hit you in the face?” Allen-Eikens asks.
“You hit me in the face,” Perez replies.
“Can y’all back me up, please?” Allen-Eikens asks the gathering crowd. “I didn’t hit that n—- in the face.”
The video continues with officer Perez holding Allen-Eikens down.
“You just gonna let him hit me in the face?” Allen-Eikens asks. “This n—- hit me in the face first.”

Allen-Eikens is finally placed in the back of a Fort Lauderdale police cruiser while still disobeying commands by Perez to get in the car.
Police said he was first transported to Broward Health Medical Center to be medically cleared and then to the Broward Main Jail.

Allen-Eikens faces numerous charges, including battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence. Both felonies.
