Walz Flustered When Asked About Family Backing Trump
Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz had nothing to say Thursday when a reporter asked about his family showing support for former President Donald Trump. Walz had been in Erie, Pennsylvania, for an event when a reporter caught up with him to ask for his reaction.
“Any reaction to your family saying they’re gonna support former President Trump?” the reporter asked Walz.
Walz glanced over at the reporter and then quickly fled the scene. The moment was caught on video by CSPAN and later posted by the Trump War Room on social media.
“When’s the last time this weirdo has answered any questions?” one commenter replied.
To date, the Harris-Walz ticket has given a total of 4 non-scripted interviews, compared to the Trump-Vance ticket’s 38.

The Walz family members in question include the Nebraska branch, which came out Wednesday morning in support of former President Donald Trump. Eight relatives of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz were seen sporting “Walz’s [sic] for Trump” t-shirts in an image posted by former Nebraska gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster.
A spokesman for Herbster later confirmed that the Walzes were related to the Democratic candidate through his grandfather’s brother.
The story followed another revelation that Tim Walz’s older brother, Jeff, was also “opposed” to his campaign. In a series of Facebook posts last week, Jeff Walz criticized his brother, calling him “not the type of character you want making decisions about your future.”
“The stories I could tell … I’m 100% opposed to all his ideology… My family wasn’t given any notice [that] he was selected and denied security the days after,” ~ Jeff Walz
Jeff Walz has reportedly been estranged from Tim Walz since the death of their brother Craig in 2016. Tim allegedly has only reached out once since to ask for tax information from Jeff, which was sought by Kamala Harris’ Vice Presidential vetting team.

Trump later said he was “honored” by the support from Tim Walz’s family.
“I was so honored today,” Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity during a town hall event in Pennsylvania.
“His brother endorsed me. And his whole family! I saw the picture,” Trump said, earning cheers from the crowd. “It was a very nice-looking family. But his brother endorsed me, and his whole family endorsed me.”
Trump was highly critical of Walz during the town hall. Trump shot back at the Minnesota Governor’s “weird” remarks,
“There’s something weird with that guy. He’s a weird guy,” Trump charged. “J.D. is not weird. He’s a solid rock. I happen to be a very solid rock. We’re not weird. We’re other things, perhaps, but we’re not weird.”
