Video – University of Florida Police Arrest Two Pro-aborts Who Stole Sign & Assaulted Officer at Pro-life Demonstration

Pro-abortionists Ian Rourke Dinkla, 21, and Bryn Victoria Taylor, 26, were arrested Friday afternoon by the University of Florida Police officers at the scene of a Pro-Life demonstration at Turlington Hall at the University of Florida.

Approximately 20 students gathered near Turlington hall for a UF Rally for Bodily Autonomy organized by the university’s Young Democratic Socialists chapter. The rally coincided with a group called Created Equal, a traveling pro-life group that’s been on the UF campus since Monday. Created Equal displayed several 4-foot-tall signs depicting images of unborn fetuses.

Dinkla stole a 3 x 4 sign from Created Equal valued at about $120, according to the police report. Dinkla put it in his car and drove off. A short time later, Dinkla appeared at the rally and started resisting a UF Police detective who approached him there to question him about the sign he stole. Dinkla resisted, and the fight was on.

Police say that while attempting to arrest Dinkla, Taylor struck an officer with a bullhorn in the back of the head. Officers say that Taylor punched an officer in the face while being arrested.

“The University of Florida will be absolutely clear about these two things: Speech is protected, and violence is not tolerated,” UF spokesman Steve Orlando said. “Everyone — regardless of their views — can exercise their First Amendment rights on this campus, and nobody has a right to violence. Violent behavior and resisting arrest are unacceptable. The University’s conduct and disciplinary review process will move forward.”

Bryn Taylor of Graduate Assistants United was arrested under two felony charges. According to the arrest affidavit, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, identified as Detective J. Tarafa, and resisting an officer with violence. She was also charged with resisting an officer without violence, a misdemeanor.

According to the arrest report, Ian Dinkla, 21, was charged with robbery by sudden snatching and resisting an officer with violence.

After the pair were arrested, the Graduate Assistants United put out a notice to fellow students:

GAU just sent this out. I’M NOT ADVOCATING SUPPORT FOR OR AGAINST THEM. SIMPLY SHARING SINCE WE ALL SAW WHAT WAS HAPPENING, INCLUDING THE POLICE PRESENCE.

“This is an URGENT APPEAL to everyone to help 2 friends – fellow GAs – who were arrested while rallying in Turlington Plaza in support for bodily autonomy and women’s rights. They have been thrown in jail, and we need folks to show up to the court in solidarity tomorrow (Saturday, Mar 11), 8:45 a.m. at the Courthouse (220 South Main Street). We will go inside and listen to the proceedings together – please dress nicely for the court.

Besides that, we’re calling on everyone to donate for a bail fund (venmo: FreeFloridaF12). Please donate and help us pull our friends out from this situation.

Please share, show up, and help in any way. We stand for justice and will not be intimidated. Together, we stand strong.”
