‘Squad’ Member Tlaib to Host Anti-Israel Event-Founding a ‘Catastrophe’
Michigan Congresswoman and far-left “Squad” member Rashida Tlaib will headline an event with several anti-Israel groups at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday to mourn the “catastrophe” of the Jewish state’s founding. The so-called “educational community event” will be hosted inside the Capitol Visitor Center at the invitation of the Democrat representative. The event, entitled “Nakba 75 & the Palestinian People,” uses the Arabic term for the founding of Israel, which loosely translates to ‘catastrophe.’
“May 15th marks 75 years since the beginning of the Nakba, which means ‘catastrophe,'” reads a description of the upcoming event.
“Seventy-five years ago, Zionist militias and the new Israeli military violently expelled approximately three-quarters of all Palestinians from their homes and homeland in what became the state of Israel.”
The organizers of the event include radical groups Emgage Action and Americans for Justice in Palestine Action, who are accused of glorifying Palestinian terrorism and who have characterized Israel as an “apartheid state.” Jewish Voice will also join the event for Peace, a “radical anti-Israel activist group” which champions the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
An official advertisement says the event is intended to “uplift the experiences of Palestinians who underwent the Nakba” and “educate Members of Congress and their staff about this history and the ongoing Nakba to which Israel continues to subject Palestinians.”
“We’ve partnered together to host this congressional and community educational event, to be followed immediately afterward by dinner.”

Antisemitic Democrat @RashidaTlaib is hosting a “Nakba Day” event in the U.S. Capitol, calling Israel’s establishment a “catastrophe”.
These are the ascendant anti-Israel voices in the Democratic Party, and House Democrats continue to pathetically coddle them. https://t.co/xtR6D9pex1

In response to the upcoming event, several Israeli and Republican groups and officials have spoken out against Tlaib, accusing her of lying and seeking to delegitimize the Jewish state.
“Rashida Tlaib, who has repeatedly used antisemitic tropes, is hosting an event to attack Israel with groups that defend terrorism and support the antisemitic BDS movement,” RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel wrote before adding, “This is outrageous. We condemn this completely… Republicans stand with Israel!”
“Imagine if Rashida Tlaib would spend as much time working for Michigan’s 12th District as she spends demonizing the world’s only Jewish state.” – StopAntisemitism (@StopAntisemites)
“Antisemitic Democrat [Rashida Tlaib] is hosting a ‘Nakba Day’ event in the U.S. Capitol, calling Israel’s establishment a ‘catastrophe,'” noted the Republican Jewish Coalition. “These are the ascendant anti-Israel voices in the Democratic Party, and House Democrats continue to pathetically coddle them.”
“The only ‘catastrophe’ is that there are antisemitic and racist Members of Congress, like [Rashida Tlaib]!” said human rights lawyer and CEO of the International Legal Forum Arsen Ostrovsky.

Less than a week ago, Tlaib also came under fire after she objected to a bipartisan Congressional visit to Israel.
After accusing Speaker McCarthy of trying to “rewrite history” surrounding the “apartheid state” of Israel and the “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians, the Squad member was struck with a community fact-check from Twitter.
