Internet reacts to AG Garland’s press conference after Mar-a-Lago raid
On Monday night, the FBI executed a search warrant on President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
A day after the raid, it was revealed that the search warrant was not related to any other investigation into President Trump, including the ongoing investigation that the January 6th Committee is carrying out in the aftermath of the ‘Stop the Steal’ rally.
Senior officials at the Department of Justice have admitted that the raid backfired ‘spectacularly’ after high-ranking Republican officials and some Democratic politicians accused Merrick Garland of politicizing the Department of Justice.

On Thursday, Garland attempted to do damage control at a press conference.
During the press conference, he admitted that he ‘personally approved’ the decision to raid President Trump’s home.

Garland also defended the FBI’s integrity, saying that he would not “stand by silently” while FBI agents are “unfairly attacked.”

Twitter users swiftly reacted to the press conference.
The Senior Editor at The Federalist, David Harsanyi, said that the general public has a good reason to distrust Garland’s integrity after he directed the FBI to investigate parents who were concerned about COVID lockdowns and mask mandates in public schools.
Sorry, we have no reason to trust Garland’s integrity after he directed the DOJ to investigate parents who were protesting school boards over issues critical race theory and mask mandates as terror threats.

Another user made a remark about Garland’s refusal to take questions, saying that “Garland will not take any questions, but you can learn more when his staff leaks to the New York Times and CNN”
Just minutes after Garland’s press conference, where he refused to take questions on what documents the FBI was seeking from Mar-a-Lago, a ‘source with knowledge of the subpoena’ told PEOPLE magazine that the FBI was seeking documents related to U.S nuclear secrets.
The leak further confirmed the Twitter user’s suspicions.
President Trump also responded to Garland’s press conference, saying that his attorneys were ‘cooperating fully’ with the Department of Justice prior to the raid.
Never Trumper Jennifer Rubin, who writes for the Washington Post, contradicted herself yesterday when she said that Merrick Garland does not ‘owe us any explanation’ over the Mar-a-Lago raid, defending the FBI’s decision not to unseal the search warrant.
I am begging reporters to do the most basic research on the rules and norms governing confidentiality at the Justice Department before they repeat Republican talking points.

After Garland announced that the DOJ would request to unseal the search warrant, she called his decision ‘brilliant’ and said it was the ‘last thing Trump would want.’ Trump has reportedly encouraged efforts for the search warrant to be unsealed.
and then moves to unseal warrant which is the LAST thing Trump wants
