Conservative Watchdog Files Motion to Unseal FBI Mar-a-Lago Search Warrant
A Conservative watchdog, Judicial Watch, filed a court motion to unseal the FBI search warrant, which authorized the raid on Former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home Monday in Palm Beach, Florida.
BREAKING: @JudicialWatch asks Court to unseal Trump search warrant–The Biden administration’s raid on President Trump’s home is an outrageous, reckless, and unprecedented abuse of power. And the American people have an urgent right to know how it happened and who is responsible.

The motion read, “Given the political context, and the highly unusual action of executing a search warrant at the residence of a former President and likely future political opponent, it is essential that the public understands as soon as possible the basis for the government’s action,”
Addressing concerns about security, the motion also read,
“Any government interest in securing the identities of witnesses and confidential sources, if any, may be addressed by appropriate redactions from the search warrant affidavit,”
Other parties, such as the Times Union and the New York Times, also filed motions requesting the warrant’s unsealing to the public.
Our NYTimes has filed to unseal the Trump search warrant. 11 pages and lots of precedent. Objectively has the best shot of all the motions https://t.co/6xPJ6mzHGy pic.twitter.com/0UusLptw6o

However, unsealing such documents while the investigation is still pending is uncommon.
Unprecedented SW. Affidavits are sealed until arrest warrant executed. If FBI doesn’t arrest Trump, affidavits are never unsealed & FBI gets a free waltz thru Trump’s private residence. No FBI accountability & free oppo info for ‘24.
Win/win for the Dems! https://t.co/RcmvUULR2w

Despite this, Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart, the Judge who approved the raid said the DOJ must now “file a Response to the Motion to Unseal”
Trump’s attorneys, however, have reviewed the search warrant and claim it centered around potential offenses regarding classified documents. Supporting this information is the fact that FBI agents specifically broke into Trump’s safe and searched his residence in general. It should be noted that presidents have the unique and nigh-unilateral power to declassify documents.

Judicial Watch claimed that the FBI and DOJ may have been “abusing their law enforcement powers to harass a likely future political opponent of President Biden” and that “if the Court were to unseal the materials, Judicial Watch would obtain the materials, analyze them, and make them available to the public.”
The White House has denied its involvement in the raid thus far. However, two FBI agents told the DCNF on Tuesday that it’s likely that the White House would have been briefed on a matter so significant.
Ex-FBI Agent Robert Chacon said that events as high-level as the Mar-a-Lago raid are “orchestrated at the highest levels.”
“So an event like yesterday’s is orchestrated, and particularly because it’s done against the former president,”
