In an extremely disturbing video, Erica Black, 32, of Merritt Island, took her pet Chihuahua “Sadie,” walked into her swimming pool, and held Sadie underwater until she drowned. Black left Sadie floating in the water for a few minutes, then exited the pool and slammed Sadie against the concrete deck four times! Black then lay down next to the pool with Sadie and took photographs which she uploaded to social media. After all this, Black left Sadie’s body on her couch for several days and then held up the corpse during a Livestream. The incident occurred last October and was captured by the home’s surveillance video system. The Sheriff’s department was unaware of the incident until Black’s roommate gave the video evidence to Law Enforcement. The Brevard Sheriff’s Office released portions of the video as it was too graphic, as well as still photos.

Black is also facing charges of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon of her roommate Lindin Siri, 68. Deputies arrived at the home on July 27th after Black allegedly stabbed Siri in the back twice! This incident was also captured by the home surveillance system. According to the arrest affidavit. Black told Brevard deputies she was “thinking of killing him for a while,” and she doesn’t know why she “snapped” that night.
Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey had a few choice words about Ms. Black while filming a video prior to her arriving at the sallyport of the Brevard County Jail in Sharpes. Black was already in the women’s annex of the jail for stabbing Siri and was walked over to the booking area to add the Animal Cruelty charge. “This woman, Erica Black, is without question the most despicable excuse for a human being I’ve ever seen in my life.” “There’s a special place in hell for this woman. Until she gets there, she’s going to rot in our jail.” And “I’m not going to show you the entire video because it is so graphic and so disgusting, it makes me sick” When Black arrived at the jail escorted by another Deputy, Sheriff Ivey walked alongside her and had this to say:
‘If I hear as much that she has a pet rock, I will lose my cr@p because this woman doesn’t deserve to have anything,’ and ‘You know, usually when I’m walking people in, I have something to say to them,’ he tells Black. ‘I’m disgusted by you.’
The bond for the charge of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon was set at $150,000, and Brevard County Judge Kenneth Friedland added another $15,000 bond on top of that for Felony Animal Cruelty.
