Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre drew the ire of the leftist press after saying that President Biden’s answering to press questions is “unprecedented,” saying that the notoriously press-averse Joe Biden has answered more “shouting” questions than any other president.

Data from the American Presidency Project shows that the Biden administration is far behind its predecessors in holding press conferences or interacting with reporters. President Biden has so far had an average of 10.5 press conferences per year – 50 percent less than President Trump and 60 percent less than President Obama.

One respondent to the tweet commented on how even the left-wing media was complaining about the lack of press conferences from the Biden administration, a strange turn of events considering the leniency they have shown the 80-year-old president so far.
“The fact that non-Fox news organizations are miffed with the Commander-in-Chief not taking questions or holding press conferences speaks volumes. KJP’s reply is a blatant lie. Biden does not take shouted questions. He smiles or laughs them off, unless the Easter bunny is there.”

Another online commentator noted the president’s habit of ignoring questions at press conferences – joking that the president takes questions but never acknowledges or answers them.

Many conservatives on the internet speculate that the lack of interaction is due to alleged cognitive decline from President Biden and a desire not to let him embarrass himself and the office. Donald Trump Jr. responded to the video and highlighted his father’s tendency to participate in spats with the media.
“This may be the dumbest statement (of so many) to come out of the press secretary’s mouth! Donald Trump did more shouted questions in an average week than Joe Biden will end up doing in his entire term. Mumbling incoherently and running away like a scared child doesn’t count.”
Mr. Biden’s presidency has been marred by major gaffe’s when speaking unsupervised or unscripted – including one incident in which he accidentally reneged on 70 years of U.S. foreign policy precedent regarding Taiwan, which led to white house staff doing damage control and trying to “take back” what President Biden had said.

President Biden has also been caught using notecards giving him instructions to take his seat and say thank you in public events. His alleged cognition failures have been subject to criticism from the left and right since the beginning of his campaign in 2019.
The President recently told reporters he was planning on running for re-election but wasn’t ready to “announce it” yet. Were he to win in 2024, the president would conclude his second term at 86 – more than 12 years older than the average U.S. male life expectancy and the oldest elected president by far.
