Florida Man Jonathan Kiser,33, along with his special lady Kaitlyn McCartney, 31, is in the Volusia County jail after they ran from Port Orange Police Officers attempting to perform a traffic stop.
When the driver (Kiser) decided to make the big mistake and keep driving, the chase was on, and the Volusia Sheriff’s office wanted in on the action. Deputies deployed “stop sticks” to help stop the vehicle.

When the vehicle pulled into the backyard of a residence and came to a stop, both occupants bailed out and ran. McCartney was captured almost immediately, but Kiser was a bit faster.
After a two-hour search for Kiser, police had him treed, and it was all caught on video. A K9 team from the Edgewater Police Department assisted in the search.
Police bodycam footage shows Kiser hanging from the tree, still attempting to escape. Officers approached him with their guns drawn and told Kiser that when he hit the ground, he was to stay where he was, or he was going to get bitten.

Kiser fell out of the tree and did not heed the warnings. He hit the ground, got back up, and started to run. The Edgewater K9 Officer released his dog, “Drako,” who got a bite on Kiser’s leg and kept him from running until police could get him in handcuffs.
Kiser was Transported to the Volusia County jail and was charged with fleeing & eluding, several counts of resisting an officer without violence, leaving the scene of a crash with damage, and more.
Ms. McCartney joined him at the jail and was charged with resisting without violence and possessing drug paraphernalia.
