Vance Says Kamala ‘Can Go To Hell’ After Arlington Incident
Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance says Kamala Harris can “go to hell” after she criticized former President Donald Trump this week for honoring the 13 servicemembers killed in the botched 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal. The comments came after a reported “incident” occurred between Trump campaign staff and an Arlington Cemetery official, who tried to stop the campaign from filming the ceremony. Trump attended the event Tuesday at the invitation of Gold Star father, Darin Hoover, whose son, Sgt. Taylor Hoover, was killed in the Kabul attack.
At a campaign event Wednesday, reporters asked Vance about the altercation and whether he felt the campaign had ‘politicized’ the ceremony by bringing a photographer.
Vance responded, “It is amazing to me that you have, apparently, somebody at Arlington Cemetery, some staff member, had a little disagreement with somebody, and they have turned — the media has turned this into a national news story.” Vance rebuked Democrats’ criticism, saying voters were more concerned with Gov. Tim Walz embellishing his military record.
“The altercation at Arlington cemetery is the media creating a story where I really don’t think that there is one,” ~ JD Vance
The Ohio Senator was quick to point out that Trump had been welcomed to the ceremony by the Gold Star families. The families of the U.S. servicemen lost in the Kabul attack had previously featured prominently during the July RNC convention in support of the former President.

Turning his attention to Democrat nominee Harris, Vance criticized her for the botched Afghanistan withdrawal that occurred on her watch.
“The other thing our veterans care a lot more about is that three years ago, 13 brave, innocent Americans died, and they died because Kamala Harris refused to do her job, and there hasn’t been a single investigation or a single firing,” Vance said.
“Look, sometimes mistakes happen,” Vance added. “That’s just the nature of government, the nature of military service. But to have those 13 Americans lose their lives and not fire a single person is disgraceful. Kamala Harris is disgraceful,” he continued.
“We’re gonna talk about a story out of those 13 brave, innocent Americans who lost their lives, it’s that Kamala Harris is so asleep at the wheel that she won’t even do an investigation into what happened, and she wants to yell at Donald Trump because he showed up… She can go to hell.”

According to the New York Post, Gold Star father, Darin Hoover, personally invited Trump to the ceremony. He later claimed that Arlington officials were “lying” about their version of the events and stated, “We are the ones that invited Trump. He didn’t invite himself.”
“We invited him because we knew that he had our backs, he supports us. He cares about us.” Hoover told the Post. “While I was there, I didn’t witness any, any physical altercation or anything like that. And quite frankly, the Arlington staff is lying. I mean, it’s just, it’s a flat-out lie,” ~ Darin Hoover, father of Sgt. Taylor Hoover
