While the DNC went on In Chicago, President Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance, continued on the campaign trail, continuing to take a sledgehammer to the DNC and Democrats in general.
Vance slammed the choice of location for the DNC to a small crowd of reporters, pointing out its decline as emblematic of the failures of Democrat policy in a video from USA Today.
“My immediate thought was all the people booing, I agree with them, that was my response to it was boo. it’s almost a joke to me that they held it in Chicago which has become the murder capital of the murder capital of the United States of America thanks to very failed Democrat leadership. Chicago has crime statistics that actually mirror, again, third-world, highly violent countries. Again public safety is the birthright of every citizen in this country.”

Elsewhere on the trail, the New York Times reported Vance’s further attacks on the Harris ticket. He pointed out her hyper-scripted campaign and avoidance of questions, accusing her of only “pretending to run.” He criticized Walz, Harris’ running mate, for not agreeing to a second vice-presidential debate and emphasized how he lied about his military service.
“Even though he says he carried a weapon in war, the closest Tim Walz has ever come to combat is when he let rioters burn Minneapolis to the ground a few years ago,” Vance said.
Trump slammed Democrats just as hard in his events during the DNC. According to Politico, Trump spent time stressing to Pennsylvania the amount of energy jobs 2they stand to lose in the case of a Harris victory, as opposed to what they would gain under his energy and manufacturing independence goals.
“You can bet that if we don’t win, if she takes over, your energy numbers will be triple and quadruple, and you won’t be producing a drop of oil,” Trump said during his remarks.
Trump went on to try out several labels for Harris, including “Comrade Kamala,” “the job-killer-in-chief,” a “country destroyer,” and someone who “is on a regulatory jihad to shut down power plants all across America,”
Trump also called out Harris for suddenly reversing herself and stealing his positions on issues like supporting fracking, border security, and ending tip taxation, all playing into the accusations of her running a pretend campaign.
The former president also criticized the current Vice President for her proposed “communist price controls.”
“Kamala has no idea what the hell she’s doing. Her father is a Marxist professor, and I believe he taught her well,” Trump said. “I wonder if they knew where she comes from, where she came from, what her ideology is.”
