Do you want to meet a hot Santa? Now you can. The Miami Herald reported that Fashion Santa can be found at the upscale Merrick Shoppes in Coral Gables. Paul Mason is a “silver fox” model touring the US and doing modeling shoots as a fashion-forward Santa. Head to the mall to tell Santa whether you’ve been naughty or nice.

Best Books to Get You Through the Holidays
If you love a Knives Out mystery with a bit of romance that reads like a Hallmark Christmas movie, look no further than the book The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Ally Carter. Ally Carter wrote the screenplay for the beloved Brook Shields movie A Castle for Christmas. The gist of this one is that the most famous mystery writer in the world disappears three days before Christmas. She’s supposed to be the queen of cozy mysteries. A soon-to-be love interest, whom she hates initially, is named Ethan. He’s the most prominent thriller writer. The two rivals become allies, and that’s all I will tell you.
The following two books appeal to those of us who like a little horror during our holidays. I haven’t read them yet, but I can’t wait. The first is You Better Watch Out by James S. Murray. This book is about a serial killer that makes you wonder if Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year.
Eight Very Bad Nights, Edited by Tod Goldberg, is a collection of Hanukkah Noir stories. I’ve read the first story of the eleven, and I loved it. It’s dark, it’s different, and it’s crime fiction. Plus, short stories are very satisfying. If you feel like reading something about badass Jews, this is your book.
Best New Christmas Movies
Christmas at Plumhill Manor stars Maria Menounos as Margot Stone, a successful architect from New York who unexpectedly inherits a centuries-old manor in England from a long-lost aunt. Of course, there’s a romance, and the scenery is spectacular. This one is Fa La La La Lifetime holiday movie watching at its best, and it’s my favorite new Christmas movie of the year.
A Sudden Case of Christmas is a charming holiday movie starring Danny Devito and his real-life daughter in a fun Christmas movie in Italy. The main thing in this one is that the granddaughter wants to celebrate Christmas in August. It’s just cute, and this is my second favorite new movie for the season.
Holiday in the Wild is a 2019 Netflix movie with Elephants starring Rob Lowe and Kristin Davis that, for whatever reason, is coming up now as a new movie to watch. One scene takes place at Christmas, which makes it a bit of a stretch as a Christmas movie, but it’s being billed that way and has that Hallmark feel. When her husband abruptly ends their marriage, empty nester Kate embarks on a solo second honeymoon in Africa, finding purpose and potential romance. This touching and romantic movie taught me that the wild elephant population has plummeted by 62% in the last decade. The movie is so good that it might inspire you to support conservation efforts to save these magnificent beings.
A Castle for Christmas, starring Brooke Shields, is from 2021. It’s not new, but it’s included here because it pairs nicely with the book The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year since they were both written by Ally Carter. This is another holiday romance that can be seen on Netflix. The scenery is so incredible that you will pack your bags to move into a charming, drafty castle in no time.
