Saeed Jamal Brown, 47, of Riviera Beach, was arrested after he robbed a PNC Bank in downtown West Palm Beach armed with a handgun wearing a dreadlock wig, facemask, and gloves while holding a broom and dustpan.

Brown entered the PNC bank in West Palm Beach at 218 Datura St. on Wednesday just before 11 a.m. Brown was armed with a handgun, wearing a lime-green landscaper-style shirt and hat, holding a broom and dustpan.
Once inside, Brown ordered the only customer in the bank to “sit down” and demanded money from the teller at gunpoint, and then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash in a getaway car.
The FBI and Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office located the getaway vehicle Wednesday evening in Riviera Beach and later identified Brown as a suspect.
Surveillance was conducted on the apartment, and Brown was taken into custody outside his apartment around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
West Palm Beach Police Public Information Officer Mike Jachles described Brown’s admission minutes after his arrest.

“During an interview with detectives, he admitted concocting this getup as a rouse to try and blend in. That involved wearing a landscape lime green shirt as well as a bucket-style line green hat. He also had a dustpan and a broom with him in addition to the handgun,” Jachles said.
West Palm Beach police said the suspect, Saeed Jamal Brown, 47, was taken into custody at his Riviera Beach apartment early Thursday morning.
They made the arrest with the assistance of the FBI, which says he is facing federal charges and has a lengthy rap sheet that includes prison time for another bank robbery. The majority of the cash stolen has been recovered.
Police said Brown was booked at the central Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office jail.
