Former President Donald Trump surrendered to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office Tuesday afternoon before formally pleading ‘not guilty’ in court. The leading Republican contender for the White House had been indicted by a grand jury on Thursday following a lengthy investigation by progressive district attorney Alvin Bragg. Conservatives have widely condemned the charges against Donald Trump as politically motivated–about a hush money payment made by his former lawyer Michael Cohen to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016. FBI and Secret Service officials had reportedly been making arrangements since Friday.
“From the time I came down the golden escalator at Trump Tower, and even before I was sworn in as your President of the United States, the Radical Left Democrats, the enemy of the hard-working men and women of this Country, have been engaged in a Witch-Hunt to destroy the Make America Great Again movement,” Trump said last week.
Photographs of the former president circulated Tuesday afternoon, showing him in court during the historic arraignment. In response, his son Eric tweeted, “BOSS!!!”

Protesters from both sides of the aisle convened in New York City in anticipation of the former president’s surrender. At least 500 protesters reportedly attended to support Donald Trump, including Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Earlier Tuesday, Trump posted to Truth Social,
“Heading to Lower Manhattan, the Courthouse. Seems so SURREAL — WOW, they are going to ARREST ME. Can’t believe this is happening in America. MAGA!”
He had previously petitioned to have the court proceedings moved to Staten Island, citing Manhattan’s profound blue influence,
“VERY UNFAIR VENUE, WITH SOME AREAS THAT VOTED 1% REPUBLICAN. THIS CASE SHOULD BE MOVED TO NEARBY STATEN ISLAND – WOULD BE A VERY FAIR AND SECURE LOCATION FOR THE TRIAL. ADDITIONALLY, THE HIGHLY PARTISAN JUDGE & HIS FAMILY ARE WELL KNOWN TRUMP HATERS. HE WAS AN UNFAIR DISASTER ON A PREVIOUS TRUMP RELATED CASE, WOULDN’T RECUSE, GAVE HORRIBLE JURY INSTRUCTIONS, & IMPOSSIBLE TO DEAL WITH DURING THE WITCH HUNT TRIAL. HIS DAUGHTER WORKED FOR ‘KAMALA’ & NOW THE BIDEN-HARRIS CAMPAIGN. KANGAROO COURT!!!”

He later added,
“THE RADICAL LEFT DEMOCRATS HAVE CRIMINALIZED THE JUSTICE SYSTEM. THIS IS NOT WHAT AMERICA WAS SUPPOSED TO BE!”
