Florida Preparing for Hurricane Mass Evacuations

Hurricane Milton is expected to hit Wednesday as a Category 3 storm. Governor DeSantis has expanded the state of emergency to 51 counties, including Palm Beach County. Please keep watching for updated weather news, as it changes hourly.

The 0.2 Percent Have Invented Some Bad Ass Things

Jews have invented a ton of medical and scientific inventions that we can’t live without. They’ve also invented some everyday fun things we all take for granted.

Blue Jeans are ubiquitous. At some point in your life, you’ve worn jeans. The inventor, Levi Strauss, was Jewish.

Batman is one of the first to come to mind when you think superhero. That character is iconic. The creator of Batman, Bob Kane, was Jewish. You may have already known that. You don’t know that Bob Kane encouraged his childhood friend, who had been married for over a decade, to stop waiting and have a child. With that, the Bat Baby named Tracy was born in Gotham City. That baby grew up, moved to Florida, and became a writer for Florida Jolt, who continues to fight legacy media today.

Democrats Say the Marijuana Amendment Will Ensure a Smokin’ Victory

The head of the chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) says, “The stars are aligning,” and that the Dems can win in Florida because of the two significant amendments on the ballot, as the Palm Beach Post reported. The thought is that younger voters will come out in droves for the marijuana amendment, but let’s get real. Smoking marijuana doesn’t exactly motivate people to get off their couches. I guess the same voters they’re counting on will take a few morning tokes on Election Day, get the munchies, and forget about going out to vote.

Psychosis Displayed in Chronic Marijuana Users

On the same page as the article mentioned above in the PB Post, there’s another article about harms related to marijuana use. They reported that doctors are seeing signs of psychosis, vomiting, paranoia, and delusions in chronic users.

Poltergeist House Turned into Airbnb

Spooky Season just got a whole lot creepier. According to TMZ, the house from the 1982 film Poltergeist, located in Simi Valley, CA, was recently sold for $1.28 mil and will be turned into an Airbnb. Unfortunately, it won’t be ready to rent before October 31, but when it is, enter if you dare.

Big Decision for the PBC State Attorney Race

Mailers and commercials are out, and the State Attorney race has gotten real. Florida Jolt caught up with a local PBC attorney, Susan Kufdakis, to get thoughts on the race from an informed voter.

It’s like Alexcia Cox is part of the SAO (State Attorney’s Office) machine; Sam Stern knows what to do so we don’t turn into New York, and Adam Farkas is just this renegade force for the pursuit of justice.

The county has a big decision; this could be anyone’s race.

Republicans and Democrats Have Different Brains

According to Fox News, liberal and conservative brains are different. The part that analyzes and recognizes threats is larger in conservatives than liberals. The fact that Rs and Ds think differently is a shock to no one, but it might explain why people in Palm Beach County see the State Attorney race so differently.

Flying Vehicles Exist Right Now

Remember the flying vehicles on The Jetsons? They’re real, and they exist now. According to the NY Post, five US owners have received EVTOLs (electric vehicles that take off and land). The Helix, a successor to the current vehicle, can be yours for $190,000.

Don’t Step on My Blue Suede Shoes

Fashion alert. According to the NY Post, suede, which they describe as “retro,” is back in style. The luxe fabric is lighter and more breathable than leather, making it perfect for Floridians looking for a tailored look with a softer edge.

Bat Baby Says Watch New Series The Penguin

There’s a new Batman series streaming on Hulu called The Penguin. It takes off on the 2022 movie The Batman and tells the Penguin’s origin story. If you were obsessed with The Joker origin movie as told in the Joaquin Phoenix movie, you must stream this riveting show starring an unrecognizable Collin Farrell. Farrell’s voice and old-timey New York accent are perfect. This is an ideal show to watch safely indoors during this hurricane watch.

NY Bagels Finally a Reality in Florida

The famous H&H bagels everyone loves in New York have opened in Boca Raton on Glades Road. Reviews from people on Facebook are mixed. Some praised the clean subway tile design and delicious bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwiches. Others say it doesn’t quite hit the mark. As a former New Yorker with fond memories of Nova and cream cheese bagels from H&H bagels, I can’t wait to try it.

NY Sushi Comes to Florida

According to Palmer, the all-things Palm Beach society site on Instagram, sushi hot spot Nobu is coming to the Eau Resort in Manalapan, bringing another upscale New York restaurant to Florida.

In some ways, Florida may be turning into New York, but New York will never have sunshine and palm trees. Only in Florida, friends.
