[VIDEO] Lindsey Graham Reams ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Over Trump Indictment
On Sunday, Senator Lindsey Graham, R-Sc. sparred with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos over the recent federal indictment of former President Donald Trump this week.
Stephanopoulos attempted to pressure Graham into admitting that Trump acted unlawfully by withholding documents from the Department of Justice and other investigating authorities but cut him off when he provided context and accused the DOJ of being hypocritical for slow-rolling the Hunter Biden investigation and not prosecuting Hillary Clinton for similar actions.
“Well, here’s what I believe. We live in an America where, if you’re the Democratic candidate for president, Hillary Clinton, secretary of state, you can set up a private server in your basement to conduct government business. And when an investigation…”
Then, Stephanopoulos cut Lindsey off, who told him he wasn’t ‘answering the question.’
“This panel you had was ridiculous — well, yeah, I’m trying to answer the question from a Republican point of view. That may not be acceptable on this show.” Graham said.

Graham then tore into media hypocrisy on Hillary Clinton’s email scandal in the runup to the 2016 election and, later on, mentioned that the investigation into the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, which detailed his role as a facilitator in a pay-for-play scandal involving then Vice President Joe Biden, has taken four years.

“Yes, I don’t like what President Trump did in certain aspects. I don’t like that Joe Biden had classified information on the garage. I don’t like that Mike Pence carelessly took classified information. I don’t like any of that. But what I don’t like is a system in America where the secretary of state, who’s a Democratic candidate for president, has people take a hammer to social media devices and break them apart, apply BleachBit to a hard drive to erase e-mails, allow classified information to get on a felon’s computer — Anthony Weiner. You haven’t even mentioned that.” Graham said.
“Most Republicans believe we live in a country where Hillary Clinton did similar things and nothing happened to her. Pres. Trump will have his day in court, but espionage charges are absolutely ridiculous,” GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham tells @GStephanopoulos. https://t.co/TAi6FOqGGJ pic.twitter.com/l0ld91Wxw6

Graham did admit that Trump likely acted improperly with the classified documents he had stored at Mar-a-Lago, but said that he believed that Trump was ‘overcharged’ and that charging him with violating the Espionage Act was inappropriate.
“Whether you like Trump or not, he did not commit espionage. He did not disseminate, leak or provide information to a foreign power or a news organization to damage this country. He is not a spy. He’s overcharged.”

He defended the view that many Americans see the indictment as politicized as Biden was prosecuting the current frontrunner as his opponent in the 2024 election.
“The leading candidate for president of the United States on the Republican side is being prosecuted by his opponent.” He said.
Representative Jim Jordan, R-Oh. echoed claims that by prosecuting Trump on Friday, Biden is ‘interfering’ in the 2024 election.
Rep. Jim Jordan says Joe Biden is interfering in the U.S. Presidential election by censoring Robert F. Kennedy Jr and indicting Donald Trump:

Graham concluded that most Americans believe that the ‘law’ is being used as a weapon against Trump.
“I promise you this, most Americans believe — most Republicans believe that the law is used as a weapon against Donald Trump.”
