Trans Pastor Compares Treatment of Nashville Shooter to Crucifixion of Jesus Christ
A transgender pastor in North Dakota turned heads over the weekend with a shocking sermon comparing the treatment of Nashville school shooter Audrey Hale to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Micah Louwagie, a newly-installed pastor at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, delivered the remarks less than a week after three staff members and three children were gunned down at The Covenant School. Louwagie took the opportunity to call for gun control and also compared the treatment of transgenders to the experiences of Jews during the Holocaust and Japanese-Americans during World War Two.
“Instead of focusing on ways this could’ve been prevented, such as gun control, a significant number of people have turned their attention to the shooter’s identity,” Louwagie told parishioners.
“Some folks have tried to focus on eradicating trans people as a solution, because they have been waiting, just waiting for an opportunity such as this. They’ve been waiting for a reason, any reason to stoke their hatred.”

I wondered if the mainline response to Nashville would be a little less crazy than usual, but nope, we've already got a tortured analogy linking Jesus' crucifixion to the transgender mass shooter pic.twitter.com/ULm1xi9BoV

The leftist pastor bemoaned the struggle of “marginalized folks” and claimed lawmakers are trying to “literally kill” transgender people by banning drag shows and chemical castration, just like Christ was killed on the cross.
“Marginalized folks, those of us with the least amount of privilege and power, they need those who have more privilege and power than they do to physically place their bodies between them and the people, powers and institutions that are literally killing them… Those leaders were looking for any excuse, valid or not, to crucify Jesus and they found that reason.”
Reflecting on the mass murder of six Christians at a Nashville elementary school, Louwagie concluded that the real victims are transgender people like Audrey Hale who face “eradication.”
“It’s baffling to me that someone’s existence can be so threatening, that people decide they need to be controlled that they need to have laws made against them or even worse that the people that they find to be so threatening, should die. There are a significant number of people who have deemed that the fact that the Nashville shooter happened to be a trans person, so it’s been reported is just the excuse they need to call for the eradication of trans folks.”

The leftist pastor also added that the experience of being transgender in America was not a “new phenomenon” and that it is comparable to the experiences of the Jews who were exterminated during the Holocaust and the Japanese-Americans who were interned during World War Two.
‘This isn’t a new phenomenon it’s been happening in this country for many, many years: the Holocaust, the Japanese internment camps of the 1940s, segregation forcibly changing indigenous people to residential schools, migrants being held in cages, the list goes on.”
Louwagie, who was speaking to a crowd of fewer than 40 people, also issued calls for gun control, arguing that Jesus Christ did not die for Americans’ Second Amendment rights,
“Rather than focusing on the fact that we have a serious gun violence problem that continues to go unaddressed, rather than focusing on the fact that six people six more people are dead, rather than focusing on the fact that those staff and children should have been safe in that school or focusing on the fact that children do not feel safe in their own schools, rather than focusing on any of this they have decided they need to cause more harm.”
