Tracy Caruso Announces Withdrawal from Florida House District 87 Race
Palm Beach County, FL –Tracy Caruso announced she will withdraw from the Florida House District 87 race. She filed to run for the seat following her husband, Rep. Mike Caruso’s successful re-election in 2024.. Rep. Caruso, completing his final term in the Florida House due to term limits, was recently appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis to serve as Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller for Palm Beach County, which means his House term ended early, and he will not be returning to Tallahassee.
“When Mike was first elected, I chose to live in Tallahassee with him—a choice many spouses don’t make,” Tracy shared. “People often asked why I stayed there. The simple answer is that we are married, and I want to live where my husband lives. Seven years later, that feeling hasn’t changed. Mike has always encouraged me to pursue my own goals and would make anything work, but with Mike’s new role here in Palm Beach County, I know that being home is best for both of us.”

Caruso shared that her decision comes after much prayer, reflection, and consideration of her deep ties to Palm Beach County.
“I have realized that my path is not to serve in Tallahassee. My place is here,” Tracy Caruso said. “I am honored to serve locally as a Commissioner for the Palm Beach County Health Care District, Chair of the Palm Beach County Housing and Finance Authority, and now, as a Trustee for Palm Beach State College. These roles are a tremendous responsibility; my community is where my heart is.”
Caruso thanks her supporters and emphasizes her ongoing dedication to Palm Beach County.
“I want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement. This is not the end of my service—it is only a redirection toward what is best for my family and community. I will have more updates to share in the days to come.”
