‘They’ Don’t Want You To Know – AMC Theaters Cancels Trans Surgery Regret Documentary

The war on woke rages on as the truth comes out about trans surgeries. There are many people who, after having what they call “gender-affirming surgery,” regret it terribly and end up “detransitioning,” and trans activists don’t want you to know about it.

AMC canceled showings of a documentary, “NO WAY BACK: The Reality of Gender-Affirming Care,” about people who regret having had sex change procedures after transgender activists complained. The film was scheduled to be released on June 21 in theaters across the US. 

The film features the stories of five people who have detransitioned. The concern is that people will view this film, discover that detransitioning occurs, and then start pushing conversion therapy on those with gender dysphoria. Still, the fact is that this does happen, and it’s a good argument for not allowing gender-transitioning procedures and hormone blockers to be given to minors. 

According to the Gateway Pundit;

The film caught the attention of an activist organization called Queer Trans Project, which set off to have it de-platformed by claiming that it is “anti-trans” and “perpetuates harmful misinformation.”

The organization had provided a form letter for supporters to mass email to AMC, saying;

It is disheartening to see a respected institution like AMC Theaters provide a platform for content that further stigmatizes and marginalizes the transgender community. This film’s screening goes against the values of inclusivity and respect that should be upheld by a company committed to providing diverse and meaningful entertainment. I implore you to reconsider this decision immediately and demonstrate your commitment to supporting a more inclusive and accepting society. Please remove the film from your lineup and help ensure that AMC Theaters remains a safe and inclusive space for all moviegoers.”

Detransitioning has been written about, but it’s not often talked about. In 2021, a book called Detransition, Baby by trans author Torrey Peters became a bestseller. It was about a man who transitioned and became a woman, decided that life was too complicated as a woman, detransitioned, and ended up getting his female boss pregnant. It was a complex book by an author with many personal struggles. The two biggest takeaways from the book are that some people transition and then change their minds and detransition. The other is an argument that the author makes: some people say that gender isn’t essential, but it is, which is why people fight so hard for it, no matter what side of the argument you’re on. Although the book was a bestseller, many don’t seem to know about it, presumably because the idea of detransitioning means that there is an argument that someone’s mind could be changed, and maybe rushing into life-altering physical changes may not be a great idea for everyone who chooses to do it.    

Detransition, Baby is a 2021 bestselling novel by trans author Torrey Peters about a man who transitions, detransitions, and ends up fathering a baby.

 

Deplorable Films, the distributor of “No Way Back,” had this to say to the Daily Wire;

“The ‘QT Project’s’ inference of detransitioning as ‘conversion therapy’ is a weak, underhanded attempt to conflate detransitioning with that despicable and sometimes devastating practice of the past. It might be worth noting that [there’s] an infamously repressive theocracy on the other side of the globe where ‘gender-affirming’ surgery is the only option given to gay men and women, who may otherwise be executed under the law.”

“It is quite evident that those undertaking this crusade against this film have not had the courtesy of seeing it before taking such extreme actions to silence it,” the distributor continued.
