Documents obtained by a conservative legal watchdog reveal that the Department of Homeland Security listed pro-life mothers as presenting a high risk of radicalization in a violence prevention training guide just days after President Biden took office.

In an internal memo dated Jan. 29, 2021, the DHS’s Office of Terrorism and Violence lists profiles of various ‘domestic extremists— including a “middle-aged pro-life advocate” — and asks participants to make “real-life decisions” to confront each.
“This is Ann, a resident of Elkville in rural America,” one profile reads. “Ann has always been religious but since the death of her mother, she’s become increasingly devout. She’s a regular in the small-town community, active in several church groups. While she has always been protective of her four kids, she has become increasingly more concerned about the welfare of other children including the unborn.”
The document, obtained by watchdog group American First Legal, then instructs employees to consider ways to address the fictional Ann’s behavior in various scenarios. In one, she questions if the bible endorses violence in the protection of life. In another, she calls the mayor a “baby killer.”
In a third scenario, one of the hairdresser’s options is to notify the sheriff after Anne calls for a stop for Planned Parenthood and shows a video of protests at the site, some of which were violent.
Hypotheticals included a man named Pete, introduced as “anti-gov,” and Courtney labeled a conspiracy theorist.
In a statement, America First Legal senior counselor and director of investigations Reed Rubinstein said that DHS and its behavior “is out of control.”
“The Department of Homeland Security’s transformation into a domestic intelligence organization and a Stasi-like Deep State internal security apparatus is alarming. It is a very long way from ‘see something, say something’ regarding an unattended suitcase at the airport to profiling patriotic and politically conservative Americans as abusive parents and domestic terrorists because they oppose abortion on demand and voted for former President Trump.”
It should be noted that the report created profiles based on environmental advocacy as well.

This is not the first incident of this kind under the Biden Administration.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency, housed within DHS, also came under attack after the publication of the “Twitter Files.” The investigative reports revealed the department’s collaboration with Big Tech to flag and suppress social media posts about COVID vaccines and elections that were at odds with the federal government.
In the fall of 2021, Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a memo that called for the FBI to investigate parents at school board meetings as potential ‘domestic terrorists,’ an order that came just after talks between the Biden White House and the National School Boards Association.
Most recently, Representative Jim Jordan has been investigating the FBI for spying on Catholic churches, likely violating the First Amendment, deeming them at high risk of fostering hateful ideologies.
Targeting conservatives for their viewpoint by labeling them as terrorists seems to be the common thread.
