Poll: Americans Want FBI to Publish File on Biden-Ukraine Pay-to-Play Scheme

According to a new poll, an overwhelming majority of Americans want the FBI to publish its informant file allegedly detailing a $5 million bribe accepted by Joe Biden from Burisma Holdings founder Mykola Zlochevsky.

Zlochevsky, a Ukrainian oligarch and former minister, is suspected of making a massive payout to both the President and his son Hunter, as part of a pay-for-play scheme orchestrated during the Obama administration.

Respondents of the Harvard-Harris poll were asked:

“Do you think that the FBI report from an informant alleging that Joe Biden took a $5 million bribe while he was Vice President should be made public or kept secret by the FBI?”

Overall, 83 percent of Americans believed the file should be made public. Only 17 percent responded that it should be kept secret.

Across the political spectrum, 74 percent of Democrats, 82 percent of independents, and 92 percent of Republicans said the FBI should publish the file.

Additionally, the poll asked respondents:

“Do you think that the FBI is fully investigation corruption allegations against Joe Biden, or is the FBI not really investigating them?”

Only 45 percent of respondents answered that they had confidence in the FBI. A majority said they did not believe the bureau was taking the investigation seriously.

The poll sampled 2,090 Americans from June 14-15. A margin of error was not provided.

Biden and his son Hunter are accused of accepting $5 million each from Ukrainian oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky, the founder of Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings. In 2015, then-Vice President Joe Biden allegedly intervened in an ongoing investigation into Burisma by Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin, threatening to withhold $1 billion in foreign aid from the country if they did not fire Shokin. At the time, Hunter was a member of Burisma’s board, reportedly earning thousands of dollars per month in his role.

In 2018, Biden publicly bragged about his role in Shokin’s firing, recalling before the Council on Foreign Relations:

“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in,’ I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money…

Well, son of a bitch, he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”

On June 12, Sen. Chuck Grassley publicly alleged that he had been approached by a whistleblower in possession of an FBI-generated FD-1023 form dated June 30, 2020. The form reportedly details an interview between the FBI and a “highly credible” confidential human source who interacted with a top Burisma executive for several years beginning in 2015 and was aware of the pay-for-play scheme.

The FBI uses FD-1023 forms to record unverified reports from confidential sources, as told to agents. According to a report by Fox News, which cited sources “familiar with the document,” the Burisma executive sought to “get advice on the best way to go forward” in 2015 and 2016.

When the confidential source asked the executive why he needed his advice if he had Hunter Biden on the board, he reportedly responded by calling the younger Biden “dumb.”
