PBC Commission Votes to Rename Palm Beach “Trump Palm Beach”
BREAKING: PALM BEACH, FL — In a late-night session that reportedly lasted under 12 minutes, the Palm Beach County Commission voted unanimously to rename the island of Palm Beach—home to Mar-a-Lago, fondly referred to be some as the “Winter White House”—as “Trump Palm Beach,” citing what one commissioner described as the area’s “undeniable brand alignment.”
According to individuals familiar with the meeting, the item was introduced without prior notice and approved before public comment was taken. The vote was recorded without discussion.

Preliminary plans tied to the change include updated roadway signage along A1A, a proposed renaming of Worth Avenue to “Executive Drive,” and a redesigned municipal seal currently in concept development. Early descriptions indicate the seal will feature gold accents, a palm tree flanked by two eagles, each with a distinctive, unmistakable Trump swept-back coiffure. Drafts of revised municipal stationery have also circulated, reportedly incorporating a bold orange color scheme.
Residents expressed a range of reactions Tuesday morning. Some described the move as consistent with recent trends, while others raised logistical questions, including whether tax payments or residency documentation would be subject to new requirements. No official guidance has been issued.
Local business owners have begun informally assessing potential branding adjustments, though no formal directives have been released. Legal analysts expect challenges to the measure, particularly regarding procedural authority and the absence of a public referendum.
County officials have not announced an implementation timeline. However, sources indicate commemorative merchandise is already in early production.
