“I still have work to do for the people of Palm Beach County,” Clerk Caruso said. “Our team at the Clerk’s office has accomplished a great deal together since I became Clerk, from alerting Palm Beach County to scams, to improving the jury duty experience, to maximizing our county’s return on investment in Israel Bonds, to strengthening the county’s IT security. The Clerk’s office is here to help everyone in Palm Beach County, and as Clerk, I want to continue building on the progress we’ve made for our entire community.”
Clerk Caruso, a Certified Public Accountant and former member of the Florida House of Representatives representing communities from Boca Raton to Jupiter, was appointed as Palm Beach County’s Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller by Gov. Ron DeSantis on August 18, 2025. He was sworn into office at midnight on August 19, and immediately got to work on his top priorities:
Modernizing vendor payment systems in collaboration with the County Administrator.
Protecting citizens from guardianship and real property fraud.
Maintaining conservative and sound investment strategies for the County’s investment portfolio managed by the Clerk’s office.
Advocating for a unified searchable database among 20 judicial circuits and 67 counties to allow streamlined access to the public across the state.
Ensuring full compliance with audits to uphold the highest oversight and accountability standards throughout Palm Beach County.
Clerk Caruso already delivered on several of those priorities, purchasing an additional $364.5 million in Israel Bonds to maximize return on investment for the county’s taxpayers, and airing on cable and local TV stations 3 different public service announcements to help warn the community about scams involving traffic tickets, jury duty, and property deed fraud.
In the 1½ months since Clerk Caruso’s public service announcements went on air in December 2025, the Clerk’s free Property Fraud Alert system received more than 25,000 subscribers. Clerk Caruso continues to bring his team throughout Palm Beach County to register people who might need additional help with the online registration system. Typically, the Clerk’s office receives approximately 1,000 subscriptions a month for the free service.
Clerk Caruso is also leading other important initiatives for the office, including:
Improving customer service through programs such as AutoPay, which allows customers to set up automatic payments on their payment plans for court fines and fees, helping customers stay on track with their payments and maintain their driving privileges
Building a stronger workplace culture and improving employee morale through the creation of an “Employee of the Week” recognition program to highlight excellent customer service at the Clerk’s office
Expanding community outreach efforts for the Clerk’s office, increasing the number of presentations and speeches to organizations throughout Palm Beach County, and creating and leading Property Fraud Alert sign-up events for homeowner and condo associations throughout the county.
Helping people find their way around the Main Courthouse in downtown West Palm Beach by working with Palm Beach County on clearer signage to help guide people safely from the Judicial Center parking garage to the courthouse building
Clerk Caruso’s achievements during his first six months as Clerk continue to earn him support from bipartisan leaders throughout Palm Beach County.
