Mike Barnett Appointed to Palm Beach County Court by Gov. DeSantis

Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Mike Barnett to the Palm Beach County Court, following a nomination from the Judicial Nominating Commission of the 15th Judicial Circuit on October 3, 2025. The official appointment took effect on December 2, 2025, and Barnett will serve at the West Palm Beach Courthouse, located at 205 North Dixie Highway.

I am deeply honored and humbled by this appointment to the Court and would like to express my sincere gratitude to Governor DeSantis for entrusting me with this position. I look forward to serving the people of Palm Beach County on the bench and upholding the highest standards of integrity, impartiality, and faithfulness to the law.

Barnett’s path to the bench has been marked by consistent leadership and service to Palm Beach County. Before this appointment, he served as Chair of the Palm Beach County Republican Executive Committee, helping to strengthen local party outreach and civic engagement. In 2022, Governor DeSantis appointed him to the Palm Beach County Commission to complete the term vacated by David Kerner, who had left to lead the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as Executive Director of the Florida Highway Patrol.

In addition to his service on the county commission, the governor also appointed Barnett to the Board of Trustees for Palm Beach State College in 2025, where he contributed to advancing educational opportunities for local students.

A practicing attorney with the Shiner Law Group before his judicial appointment, Barnett brings years of legal experience, dedication to community, and a strong ethical foundation to the county court bench.

Congratulations to Judge Mike Barnett on this well-deserved honor. Palm Beach County is proud to have such an outstanding public servant continuing his work on behalf of our community.
