Marc Wigder for City Council: Hands-On Attention for Boca Raton
Marc Wigder, real estate lawyer, investor, entrepreneur, and public servant, is the only incumbent running for City Council and is dedicated to serving Boca with his unique experience and approach. The election will take place on March 10, 2026.
“ I am the only incumbent running for real election and that is important.Electing a brand new council, you know, all the people would would really kind of lose a lot of that continuity and that deep experience. And it’s important to have a basic experience with some knowledge there” Wigder told the Florida Jolt.
Wigder is endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police (F.O.P. Lodge 35), Fire Fighters of Boca Raton, IAFF Local 1560, The Hispanic Vote, and Business Leaders United for Boca Raton (BLU-PAC).
Wigder was the President of the HOA in Devon Place, a community in Woodfield. He was a board member on the master HOA of Woodfield and the Woodfield Country Club HOA. He also served on several other advisory boards, including with his synagogue and various charities, before eventually joining the City Council.
When asked what compelled him to run for the Council, Wigder told the Jolt that his survival of cancer motivated him to be more involved in the community.
“When you’re given the second chance, what do you want to do with it? Is it just to, you know, write checks to charities, or can you, can you be more involved can you have that legacy that’s a little bit more than, than on the sidelines? I told myself, I’m gonna change and and be the person who is involved, not who just talks about it, and I’m happy I did ”

Wigder, a 21-year resident of Florida, has worked as a lawyer and businessman in Boca for the last 17 years, raising his children with his wife. Wigder worked as an in-house real estate attorney before striking out on his own, founding Greenhouse, a real estate company dedicated to sustainable properties and low energy costs. During this time, Wigder earned his MBA from Yale.
Wigder went on to discuss his top three priorities as a city council member: public safety, smart growth, and infrastructure. On public safety, Wigder voiced his support for the new police station, which will be centrally located relative to recent uptown expansion, and help match police resources to Boca’s explosive growth over the last 50 years. Wigder also called attention to the importance of upgrading the old downtown police station, which is not impact-rated for tropical storms and hurricanes.
On smart growth, Wigder explained how income-restricted housing segments of new development will be critical for supplying workers to local businesses, and that AI traffic lights should be promoted to reduce both traffic and accidents.”Statistically, across the country, these lights have been known to reduce accidents by 12 to 30%, so we’re going to be expanding that initially on Palmetto, essentially from I-95 to all the way downtown to the bridge. ” Wigder said.

Finally, Wigder affirmed his focus on infrastructure, mentioning major sea walls and canals in need of updates to ensure Boca is prepared for storm season.
When asked by Jolt what sets him apart from his competitors, Wigder explained his unique hands-on approach.
“I’m very visual in nature. When I get an issue that’s important and and people talk about it, whether it’s location based or whether it’s policy based, I don’t just do research on the issue, I will go see I will go to that location. When you’re talking about a bridge that needs to be replaced or a sea wall that needs to be replaced. I will go there. I will drive the entire city and find out what they’re talking about,”

“It’s a deep analysis approach, deep experience approach, but also a field-based one too.” Wigder continued.
“Talk to the people, talk to the people who are doing the job. Talk to the people out there who are living it, so you’re getting the actual field observations. I think that sets me apart from my competitors. It’s a reason we’ve been so successful.”
