Florida Democrats Demolished by Republicans in Fundraising

A recent financial report from the Florida Democrats revealed that the state DNC has raised roughly 2 million since April 1st, while the Republican Party of Florida has raised nearly 16 million in that same time.

DNC Chairwoman Nikki Fried quietly filed the financial report late Saturday night, likely to keep the embarrassment under wraps.

Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) Evan Power commented on the matter, contrasting Fired and the Democrats’ performance with the RPOF’s.

“In the darkness of night, Nikki Fried filed a financial report that confirmed what we all know: the Florida Democrats have been faking momentum all along. Fundraising indicates support from small to large donors for leader and public policy. Nikki Fried’s paltry outcome demonstrates that there are few buyers for what Fried and the Florida Democrats are selling. They are being out-raised, outworked, outregistered, and were overcome in the Spring election cycle. I hope Nikki Fried flew coach on her way to the DNC in Chicago as Democrats meet to complete the coup against their own primary voters.”

-Evan Power, RPOF Chairman

Power’s reference to fake momentum is an insinuation that the Florida Democrats’ messaging and polling about being within striking distance of Republicans in several elections was simply a fundraising ploy. Other users on Twitter have shared the same sentiment.

This fundraising gap is critical in the lead-up to the November presidential election. While Florida has in recent years been a bright red bastion, it spent significant time as a swing state. The local Republican advantage in fundraising is one step closer to preventing any return to that status.
