DeSantis Slams Media Coverup of ‘Vapid, Incredibly Liberal’ Kamala

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis says voters should expect a “blizzard of lies” over the next few months as mainstream media tries to deceive the country into voting for Kamala Harris for President. DeSantis warned that if Harris is selected as the Democratic nominee next month, she will be the most far-left major candidate Americans have ever seen.

“Down here in Florida, it’s hot in July, and it’ll be hot in August, but you’re going to see a blizzard of lies over the next few months,” DeSantis said in an interview with FOX News. There’s not going to be any pushback from the entrenched corporate media, and they’re going to try to rewrite history and present her as something that she’s just not.”

Republicans raised concerns last week that several major news outlets, including NBC, CBS, and Axios, have started to run cover for the Harris campaign–at times publishing blatantly false stories. On Tuesday, a handful of newspapers began cracking down on using the term “border czar” to describe Harris’ role in her administration’s immigration policy, despite previously using the moniker in their reporting.

On Friday, CBS falsely reported that former President Donald Trump had misled voters on Harris’ record of supporting violent criminals, resulting in a fact-check from social media site X.

“The media really worked hard to push Biden out. And now you see all the arteries of the left — the corporate media, Hollywood, academia — they’re using all the king’s horses and all the king’s men to try to put the Democratic Party back together again,” DeSantis Warned. “And they have to whitewash Harris’ background to be able to make her palatable to the American people, but I think we’ve all seen her.”

DeSantis, however, argued that the media’s last-ditch effort would not be enough to trick voters. “She’s incredibly vapid, even more incredibly liberal. And she doesn’t have any accomplishments,” DeSantis said. She owns all the policies of the Biden-Harris administration. She owns the border; she owns the inflation.”

Top issues for Americans going into the 2024 election include inflation, immigration, and crime. According to RealClearPolitics, 63 percent of voters disapprove of the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of inflation and immigration, while 57 percent disapprove of its handling of crime.

“I think, ultimately, truth is going to prevail. But the one thing we do have to acknowledge is that Biden set the bar so low … He couldn’t even deliver a sentence,” DeSantis continued.

“Now you take somebody like Harris who’s not exactly lighting the world on fire, but Biden makes her look like Socrates just because we’re so used to him not even being able to do anything. Now you have somebody who’s younger, so we’re in for a battle here.”

DeSantis’ state of Florida swung for Trump by roughly 370,000 votes in 2020. Since then, the state has seen a significant shift in voter registration, with Republicans now holding an advantage over Democrats of nearly one million voters. Florida is not expected to be competitive in the 2024 election, with the Harris campaign turning its focus elsewhere.

On Wednesday, the Harris campaign announced plans to “play offense” in several key battleground states, including Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Florida, however, did not make that list.
