Country Music Stars to Hold Benefit Concert for Real Victims of Nashville Shooting
While politicians and prominent celebrities have paid significant attention to the tragic shooting at the Covenant School that left six dead in Nashville, Tennessee, most have primarily used the shooting to garner sympathy for transgender people and causes.
Now, almost two weeks after the shooting, a star-studded cast of country music stars are holding a benefit concert where the proceeds will directly assist the families of victims of the shooting.
According to the Fisher Center, the concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Fisher Center in Nashville.
Within two days of announcing the concert, tickets were already sold out as people were eager to assist the families affected by the tragedy.

“I’m so honored to be a part of this event, gathering with our city and rallying around a school and community that I love so much,” One artist said.
Another artist, Natalie Hemby, was proud that the Nashville community was ‘stepping up’ to support the shooting victims.
“Nashville is once again stepping up and using its talents and resources to support the community,” Hemby said.
The country artists benefit concert stands in contrast to a concert also being held in Nashville by pop star Madonna, who will give the proceeds of her show to transgender advocacy groups.
After the mass school shooting, @Madonna announced a benefit concert in #Nashville. But those who would receive the benefit funds aren't the family members of those murdered by the trans shooter. Madonna will donate proceeds to #trans groups. https://t.co/cWB0knFd9X

Madonna received an outpouring of negative comments after she announced that the proceeds from her concert would go to transgender advocacy groups rather than the victims of the shooting.

While many details from the shooter’s manifesto, 28-year-old Audrey Hale, have not yet been released, police mentioned that she specifically targeted Covenant because it was a Christian school.
Hale reportedly had been planning the attack for months, and her manifesto included elaborate.
This week, another attempted school shooting by a transgender perpetrator, 19-year-old William Whitworth, was foiled by Colorado Springs police.
Still, faith leaders in Tennessee have rallied around the shooting victims.
Rev. Mary Cady Bolin recently wrote an Op-ed in response to the Nashville shooting, saying that private and public mourning are an acceptable response to the horrific events in Nashville. “My hunch is that in our world of immediate answers, we do not give ourselves time to grieve because it’s too uncomfortable and uncertain. After all, God is most confusing when He is silent. Therefore, we deduce, if we can busy ourselves, we do not have to feel what we worry might be His absence,” she wrote.
