‘What a Joke’ – NAACP Issues Anti-Florida Travel Advisory for Black Americans
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the NAACP, recently issued a “travel advisory” for black Americans, telling them to avoid Florida because of Ron DeSantis’s “quest to silence African-American voices.”
The organization cites the Florida governor’s efforts against critical race theory as evidence of a “sustained, blatant, relentless and systemic attack on democracy and civil rights.”
“On a seeming quest to silence African-American voices, the Governor and the State of Florida have shown that African Americans are not welcome in the State of Florida. Due to this sustained, blatant, relentless and systemic attack on democracy and civil rights, the NAACP hereby issues a travel advisory to African Americans, and other people of color regarding the hostility towards African Americans in Florida” ~NAACP
The NAACP hasn’t issued travel advisories to states like New York or cities like Chicago, where black Americans are murdered in droves by rampant crime, prompting onlookers to speculate that the statement is an overtly political move and not made to help black Americans.

The statement cited several of DeSantis’s landmark anti-woke policies and decisions, namely his ban on critical race theory within universities, secondary schools, and workplaces.
This just in Florida and Floridians will protect their life and property by force. Openly hostile to criminals of all colors.

The NAACP just issued a travel advisory for all Blacks to avoid the state of Florida because they are in danger if they travel here.
Chile, please.
Someone tell that to @ByronDonalds who is a Congressman here, elected by Florida voters. He’s Black.
Someone tell that to…

The statement also harped on DeSantis’s removal of an AP “African American Studies” Class, which DeSantis removed, citing a lack of educational value consistent with other AP classes and its basis in critical race theory.
“Before traveling to Florida, please understand that the state of Florida devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by African Americans and other communities of color.”

President of the NAACP and DEI advocate Derrick Johnson added to the statement, making more unfounded claims about Florida and its education system.
“Let me be clear — failing to teach an accurate representation of the horrors and inequalities that Black Americans have faced and continue to face is a disservice to students and a dereliction of duty to all. Under the leadership of Governor Desantis, the state of Florida has become hostile to Black Americans.”
The Florida executive has fought relentlessly against DEI, remarking that “DEI is better viewed as standing for discrimination, exclusion, and indoctrination.” Contrary to the left’s screeches, Ron DeSantis has “banned” next to nothing. Instead, he has refused to use hard-earned taxpayer money to support it.
That's the sickest lie ever. But the race grifter industry is desperate these days. pic.twitter.com/CF1sEMhXTY

DeSantis, his advisors, and his supporters mocked the dramatic and unfounded claims of the NAACP. DeSantis political aid Christina Pushaw jabbed at the organization on Twitter.

With hundreds of thousands of Americans of all colors moving to Florida, DeSantis didn’t take the statement he called a “stunt” seriously.
What a joke. Yeah, we’ll see, we’ll see how effective that is. This is a stunt to try to do that. It’s a pure stunt and fine, if you want to waste your time on a stunt, that’s fine. But I’m not wasting my time on your stunts.”
