[Video] Transgender Charged With Stabbing Father To Death, Media Silent

A 36-year-old transgender has been charged with second-degree murder after stabbing his father to death Saturday morning, and very few media outlets are reporting it.

According to a brief release from VBPD, officers responded to a call for service just before 9 a.m. Saturday on Wren Place in the Birdneck Point neighborhood. That’s where officers say they found 68-year-old Dr. Abbey Horwitz suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead by first responders just after 9 a.m. on Saturday.

The father, 68-year-old Dr. Abbey Horwitz, was a dentist and recently retired from his practice. He also served as the President of the Hebrew Academy of Tidewater and the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater. People who knew him respected the Doctor, with his former employees recently throwing a retirement party for him.

The accused murderer, 34-year-old Michael Horwitz, was allegedly transitioning to ‘Norah’ and posted several images of himself dressed like a woman to his Facebook page. The Facebook Bio shows that ‘Norah’ was an avid Black Lives Matter supporter, having the emblem placed as their profile picture. His Facebook showed nothing about where Michael worked or went to school. According to court records, Michael said that he worked as a dishwasher.

The alleged killer also appeared to have a hobby for artistry, with him posting photos of his paintings and drawings, with one, in particular, showing support for black trans people.

The accused murderer is reportedly on suicide watch in the prison where he is currently being held in the men’s section of the Virginia Beach Jail. The accused murderer was arraigned via Zoom yesterday morning.

According to WTKR, the local news station, they asked many individuals about what they thought about the praised dentist, with the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater saying this about him:

Dr. Horwitz was a wonderful man and we will respect his family’s wishes for privacy at this time.

Neighboring business owner Michele Nielsen had this to say about him:

He’s been my dentist since I was eight years old. He was also instrumental in helping us start here, you know. He jumped right on board and gave us advice and came to our grand opening without us even having to ask him.

Another neighboring business owner, Michael Maugeri, stated, ‘He showed us how to be a good boss, a good person.’

Dr. Horwitz’s practice was closed Monday, so many could gather there and mourn. Friends and co-workers there said Dr. Horwitz was a generous man who went out of his way to assist others.

According to The Gateway Pundit, the news organizations 100 Percent Fed Up, The Gateway Pundit, and a few other media outlets were the only ones to report on this story so far, with no mention from any mainstream media sources that were not local.

Sunday’s news release from Virginia Beach police did not disclose any potential motive, nor did it reveal any of the ‘probable cause’ evidence police used to secure arrest warrants from a magistrate.
