During the jogger attack, the owner’s dog alerted her about the attack. “I thought he’d seen another dog or something,” the owner said, “but then I hear someone yell, and I turn around, and there’s a guy on the ground getting, like, beat with this pipe.”

She said her dog, Charlie, was “going crazy and barking.”
