Video-Nikki Fried’s Foul-Mouthed Pitch to Democrats: ‘Just F–king Vote’
Florida Democrat Party Chair Nikki Fried is making good on a promise to “rebrand” her party, drawing it further away from respectability with a new, vulgar get-out-the-vote ad. In a video posted Thursday, Fried doubled down on a crude pitch to the state’s dwindling blue electorate, directing them to “just f–king vote.” The Duval County Democrats shared Fried’s “blunt message” to encourage voters to rally behind Donna Deegan for Jacksonville mayor. However, the party chair’s f-bombs now appear to be blowing up in her face.
“A couple of weeks ago I was arrested outside City Hall, protesting, wearing a shirt that said, ‘Just F–king Vote.’” Fried said in the brief ad. “That’s exactly what we need the city of Jacksonville to be doing. Go out and f–king vote.”
Last month, Fried wore the same ‘Just F–king Vote’ pitch on a t-shirt outside Tallahassee City Hall to protest Republicans’ efforts in passing the Heartbeat Protection Act. Tallahassee police later arrested her after staying past the property’s “normal operating hours” and refusing to leave.

In a tweet promoting the video, the Duval County Democrats wrote, “If you want solutions that will help build up our city and change peoples lives for the better, “just fu**ing vote!'”
But that message does not appear to be landing with everyone, particularly older and moderate voters.
“A big part of her job is helping to win county elections in a red state,” one commenter wrote. “I wonder if she thinks this appeals to the 60+ crowd who actually vote in those elections.”
“That’s why we’re in this mess: votes cast with no thought behind it, especially the long-term consequences.” – ThatGirl (@annsummtbe)
“I think it’s the wrong delivery and message to win over moderate conservatives,” another commenter added.
Later on Thursday, outgoing Jacksonville Mayor and former Florida Republican Party chair Lenny Curry said that Fried’s comments were evidence of the FDP’s serious decline.
“The [Florida Democrats] were broken when I was [Florida GOP] Chair many years ago but at least they were trying to run a get out the vote ground game. It’s now fbombs and narcissists looking for clicks not wins.”
“Do y’all kiss your families with that mouth?” he asked the Duval Democratic Party.

After winning her race to become the party chair in February, Fried said that her primary mission would be to reunify and reconnect with Democrat voters. Speaking to Florida Roundup in March, she blamed her party’s recent 19-point loss on a “complete breakdown of communication,” and said she had a plan to win over independents and even some Republicans.
“We’ve lost the support and the trust of so many Floridians across the state, not just Democrats, but independents and those Republicans that believe that their party has left them, that we didn’t create a home for them… So we start looking at some of those bridge building exercises, making sure that we are going back to the basics.”
Despite Fried’s efforts, Florida Republicans now lead Democrats in registration by nearly half a million votes, up from the 300,000 reported during the 2022 midterm elections.
