According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Florida man Omar Gutierrez, 32, is accused of trying to kill his roommate by stabbing him in the neck.

Deputies responded to a home around 5:45 pm Tuesday in northwest Gainesville after a man called 911 to report that his roommate, Omar Gutierrez, had stabbed him in the neck, the sheriff’s office said.
In a video of body camera-worn footage released by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Captain Chris Sims says two deputies “forced their way inside of a home where [the] stabbing victim lay on the floor bleeding and [the] suspect was still inside that residence and potentially armed.”
The video shows that the victim was able to walk out of the home on his own as deputies directed commands at the suspect. Eventually, Gutierrez emerged from another spot in the house wearing what appeared to be cat pajamas or a cat onesie and was taken into custody.

In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office said that they exchanged Gutierrez’s cat costume for a green and white striped jumpsuit.

Gutierrez was jailed on one count of attempted murder and is being held on a million-dollar bond, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
The identity or medical status of the victim has not been released at this time.
