[Video] Florida Man Steals SUV, Crashes Into Building Looking For Wi-Fi

Florida Man Michael Barr, 20, is in the Volusia County Jail after he was caught driving a stolen vehicle and fleeing from police.

Our story begins with Barr driving through Daytona Beach Shores when local police discovered the SUV he was driving was reported stolen.

When police initiated a traffic stop, Barr made another bad decision and fled. During the pursuit, Barr jumped out of the SUV and ran away while it was still moving, and the SUV crashed into the wall of a building.

Sheriff’s deputies were able to track Barr down to a nearby motel room and took him into custody. Barr allegedly had a handgun in his pocket at the time.

Bodycam footage posted by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office shows Barr being arrested in the room. After being cuffed and taken outside, Barr looked up at the Sheriff’s helicopter and said, “We lit as Hell, ya’ll got the helicopter after me.”

“Barr told [police] his friends left him in Miami, so he hitchhiked to Kissimmee, stole a vehicle, and got off at the Dunlawton exit in Volusia County because he was looking for a Wi-Fi connection,” the Volusia Sheriff’s Office wrote on Twitter.

“He’s now in jail with no connection,” they added.

Barr was Transported to the Volusia County branch jail and charged with loitering, grand theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, and unlawful carrying of a concealed firearm.

He was also charged with resisting an officer without violence, driving with a suspended/revoked license, and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.

Barr remains in jail without bond.
