McMillie was checking in for her American Airlines flight at gate D-39 when she noticed her children were gone. McMillie caused about $10,000 in damages and bruised the agent’s left shoulder, police said. She was arrested and transported to the Dade County Jail where she was charged with aggravated battery, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.
American Airlines stated it’s working with law enforcement in the investigation.
Folks, I spent a few years working patrol at the Orlando International Airport, and I can tell you this type of idiocy goes on constantly. If I had a nickel for every call like this that I was dispatched to, I’d be a rich man. Gate agents cursed at, and spit on, for every type of perceived injustice out there. I went to one call because a gate agent was battered and threatened because the aircraft was having a maintenance issue and was delayed.

The airline industry is in chaos now, and no one needs this type of behavior. The Christmas season is the busiest time of the year for airlines. Miami International Airport Authority officials stated that for this year, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week, they will have an estimated 157,000 travelers passing through the airport each day.
Pro Tip Folks: If you are traveling through an airport, keep your eyes on your children, your luggage, and the time.
