Vet. Who Killed Armed BLM Protester Gets 25 Years-Gov. Abbott Says He’ll Pardon
An army sergeant who killed a BLM protester wielding a rifle during the 2020 Goerge Floyd riots was sentenced to 25 years in prison earlier today. The man, Daniel Perry, said that the shooting of the protesters was in self-defense after the armed BLM supported pointed the rifle at his car.
The harsh sentence comes weeks after the 37-year-old man was found guilty of murder by a Texas jury, and matches the recommendation given to the judge by the prosecutor.

Texas Governor Gregg Abbott issued a quick response shortly after the jury found him guilty, publicly and proudly announcing that he would be attempting to pardon Mr. Perry.
“Texas has one of the strongest “Stand Your Ground” laws of self-defense that cannot be nullified by a jury or progressive district attorney.”
Abbott said that because of the Texas constitution limiting gubernatorial power, he would be forced to relinquish the decision to a board of pardons and paroles – however, the governor can make recommendations, which is what Abbott has done.
Abbott closed his statement by saying that he “looks forward to approving the Board’s parole recommendation as soon as it hits my desk.”
Video clearly shows that Garrett Foster, the white guy Daniel shot, was the aggressor. This "fRaGiLe wHiTe gUy blah blah blah" argument you're trying to make makes no sense. pic.twitter.com/rqv5vkXMFv

Pictures show Perry’s claims to be true: Garrett Foster was pointing his rifle at Perry. The jury, however, convicted Perry despite this evidence, arguing that having a firearm pointed at a person is not grounds for self-defense.
The prosecution in the trial argued that Perry sped up into a group of BLM protesters in an attempt to kill them – something that was refuted by speed data of the car showing that Perry tried slowing done.
The prosecutor also, without evidence, said Perry would attack or kill anyone he thinks is threatening.
“This man is a loaded gun, ready to go off at any perceived threat. He’s going to do it again.”
Nonetheless, Perry faces about a quarter of his life in jail for defending himself from a BLM protester, if the Texas Board of Paroles and Pardons doesn’t let him out.

When Abbott announced that he wanted to pardon Mr. Perry, I called Abbott & TX Board of Pardons and Parole to register my objections–was told email was best way to register input. Below is contact info.

The response from the right has been predictably angry – one Twitter user called the supporter of Garrett Foster a regime apologist.
“You’d rather innocent people get their head blown off rather than defend themselves so you can tell everyone what a good loyal person you are to the regime.” ~@bizzzDJM on Twitter

Another user applauded Greg Abbott’s efforts to not punish people for defending themselves, especially from BLM and similar protests – something which rogue Soros-funded district attorneys have become infamous for.
“It isn’t controversial. It is obviously correct to pardon this man. The prosecutor needs to be removed from office.” ~@NellaDoubleDub on Twitter
Though Abbott filed the request, there is no guarantee that Daniel Perry will see the world as a free man again any time soon – the process is lengthy and Perry will likely spend a not-insignificant amount of time locked up in Texas state prison for his self-defense during BLM violence.
