Former President Donald Trump rebuked a “deranged” New York judge’s decision this week to revoke the Trump Organization’s business certificates. Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron ruled Tuesday that Trump had overinflated his assets in an ongoing case brought by progressive New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Trump slammed the decision as “un-American” in a statement published shortly after.
“The widespread, radical attack against me, my family, and my supporters has now devolved to new, un-American depths, at the hands of a deranged New York State Judge, doing the bidding of a completely biased and corrupt ‘Prosecutor,’ Letitia James, who ran for office based on a ‘Get Trump’ platform,” Trump said in an official statement.
“Today’s action is a refutation of my status as the leading Candidate for President of the United States, including with a substantial lead over Joe Biden. It is a terrible reminder that the Radical Left Democrats will stop at nothing in trying to prevent me, and the American people, from winning the 2024 Presidential Election.”

The 35-page ruling by Engoron concluded that Trump and his organization are liable for fraud and accused the former President of deceiving banks and insurers by overvaluing his worth while building his company. Engoron’s ruling contradicts a previous report from May 2022, which found that Trump had undervalued his assets at the time. At the time, that finding was reportedly a factor in Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg dropping one of his investigations against Trump.
The ongoing lawsuit is one of dozens of cases brought against Trump by Attorney General James on a wide range of subjects, including his policies on the environment, immigration, education, health care, and other issues while he was President.
“Regardless of Party, we cannot let this happen in the United States of America!” Trump said in the statement, which was posted to Truth Social.
“As my lead in the polls over Joe Biden continues to skyrocket, these Corrupt and Highly Political Prosecutors and Judges are getting more and more desperate and dangerous. We are rapidly becoming a Communist Country, and my Civil Rights have been taken away from me.”

Continuing, Trump said that Engoron “hated everything” about him at a level “even beyond the hatred of that displayed by Letitia James,”
“This is Democrat Political Lawfare, and a Witch Hunt at a level never seen before. It is an attempt to badly injure the opposing Party’s Leading, by far, Political Candidate. Nothing like this has ever happened in our Country before. My Civil Rights have been violated, and some Appellate Court, whether Federal or State, must reverse this horrible, un-American decision.”
“If they can do this to me, they can do this to You!” he added.
If the judge’s ruling against Trump is upheld, the Trump Organization may be prohibited from conducting business in New York State. A non-jury trial in the case is expected to begin on October 2.
