Trump Shreds Biden for ‘Hate-Filled’ SOTU Address

Former President Donald Trump was fired up Thursday night as he offered live commentary of Joe Biden’s “angry” and “hate-filled” State of the Union address. In the third such address of his term, Biden spent the evening discussing abortion, aid to Palestine, and the war in Ukraine. He did not mention Trump by name during his speech; instead, he referred to him as his “predecessor.”

“This was an angry, polarising, and hate-filled Speech. He barely mentioned Immigration or the Worst Border in the History of the World. He will never fix Immigration, nor does he want to,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social page. The former President criticized Biden throughout the evening.

“He wants our Country to be flooded with Migrants. Crime will raise to levels never seen before, and it is happening very quickly!”

In his address, Biden urged Congress to pass his bipartisan border agreement, which critics point out would allow up to 5,000 illegal crossings per day.

“That may be the Angriest, Least Compassionate, and Worst State of the Union Speech ever made. It was an Embarrassment to our Country! … THIS IS LIKE A SHOUTING MATCH, EVERY LINE IS BEING SHOUTED,”

“The Story is that he got through it, he’s still breathing, and they didn’t have to carry him out in a straitjacket,” Trump wrote, concluding his commentary. “Other than that, he did not do a very good job!”

Biden repeatedly referred to his “predecessor” Trump throughout his speech, slamming him on issues including immigration, abortion, and January 6.

“My predecessor and some of you here seek to bury the truth of January 6,” Biden said. “I will not do that. This is a moment to speak the truth and bury the lies.”

In an interview with Fox News following the address, Trump shot back at the President, attacking his mental health.

“He was angry, mentally disturbed, and misrepresenting a lot of the facts concerning almost every subject he discussed,” Trump told the outlet. He accused Biden of suffering from a “terminal case of Trump derangement syndrome,” which he added “is only curable through impeachment.”

Asked why Biden referenced him so many times during his speech, Trump told the publication, “Because I’m beating him by 14 points in the polls.”

“He was very angry and that’s also a symptom of a certain type of problem — senility,” Trump said. “He shouldn’t be at this age because he’s a young man relative to others his age that are very successful.”

Biden was also slammed by his party Thursday night after referring to Laken Riley’s murderer as an “illegal.” After misstating the Georgia student’s name as “Lincoln Riley,” Biden went on to say she was “An innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal, that’s right.”

“Let me be clear: No human being is illegal,” Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) later posted to social media.

“As a proud immigrant, I’m extremely disappointed to hear President Biden use the word ‘illegal,'” Rep. Chuy Garcia (D-IL) said.

In 2021, a memo released under the Biden administration by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service specifically urged the use of the term “undocumented individual” or “undocumented noncitizen” rather than “illegal alien.”
