Trump Fundraising Tops Biden For First Time – Outraises Dems by $25M
Donald Trump’s campaign closed its fundraising gap against Joe Biden last month, edging out the Democrat President by more than $25 million. A report issued Monday by the Biden campaign shows a fundraising haul of just $51 million for the month of April–significantly less than the $76 million in new contributions previously reported by Trump’s team.
The figures show a steep plummet for Biden’s fundraising operation, which had pulled in more than $90 million in March. By comparison, the Trump campaign increased its fundraising totals, outdoing the $65 million it raised in March.
“[A]ll while [Trump] was forced to sit in a courtroom for a sham, Soviet-style trial,” Republican National Committee Co-Chair Lara Trump posted to X on Monday. “Despite their desperate attempts to stop him, the momentum & grassroots support is GROWING & will continue all the way to Nov 5.”
In a statement released Monday, Trump 2024 spokesman Karoline Leavitt credited the campaign’s grassroots efforts.
“President Trump and the RNC significantly outraised Biden and the Democrats in the month of April, thanks to the support of millions of small-dollar donors from every state across the country,” spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said. “President Trump’s fundraising haul over Biden is especially remarkable when you consider he has been confined to a courtroom for nearly nine hours a day over the past four weeks fighting against Biden’s trial.”

Despite falling dramatically behind the Trump campaign’s fundraising totals last month, the Biden campaign painted its efforts as a win, touting “enthusiasm” for re-electing Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
“April’s haul reflects strong, consistent grassroots enthusiasm for reelecting Joe and Kamala, and is giving us the resources necessary to invest in opening offices, hiring organizers and communicating across our battleground states in order to mobilize the coalition of voters who will decide this election,” Campaign Manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement.
The latest reports spell trouble for Biden, who is increasingly falling behind Trump in national polling. Harvard-Harris’s findings released Monday found Trump leading by 6 points among voters. Most other pollsters award Trump a slight edge, with RealClearPolitics showing Trump winning by just 1.1 points.
Biden, however, continues to hold an advantage in cash on hand, boasting a $192 million war chest and an estimated $84 million in his campaign account. By contrast, Trump currently holds roughly $49 million in his campaign account.

“The only people left in America who support Crooked Joe Biden are out-of-touch billionaires in Hollywood, and it turns out even they are done giving to a failing campaign,” the Trump campaign said in a statement. “President Trump’s fundraising prowess and his increasingly dominant position in the polls proves three things — the momentum is 100% on President Trump’s side, Americans see the truth about Joe Biden’s witch-hunt trial in New York, and they want President Trump back in the White House to Make America Great Again.”
