In the wake of news that former President Donald Trump could be arrested as soon as Tuesday due to charges stemming from payments to Stormy Daniels, Trump has attacked New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s office has led multiple investigations of the former President, including whether he misled insurers and lenders regarding the value of his properties.
Trump has maintained his innocence in the run-up to an arrest that he says will happen this week, stating that no ‘crime’ was committed.
“There was no ‘misdemeanor’ here either. There was no crime, period,” Trump, 76, wrote.
He went so far as to accuse Bragg of prosecutorial misconduct, urging people to ‘investigate the investigators.
“All other of the many Democrat law enforcement officers that looked at it, took a pass. So did [former Manhattan DA] Cy Vance, and so did Bragg. But then, much latter [sic], he changed his mind. Gee, I wonder why? Prosecutorial Misconduct and Interference with an Election. Investigate the Investigators!” Trump said.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Ca. announced he would investigate federal funds used to ‘pervert justice’ just hours later.

Trump further said Bragg was ‘pushed’ to indict him by radical left-wing groups and liberal mega-donor George Soros.
“I knew what that meant — He was being pushed to do something that shouldn’t be done. He wasn’t willing to stand up to Soros and the Marxists that are destroying our Country!” Trump said.
The former President said Bragg went out of his way to stack the Manhattan District Attorney’s office with politically biased prosecutors and called the Manhattan DA a ‘racist in rerverse’.

“Biden wants to pretend he has nothing to do with the Manhattan D.A.’s Assault on Democracy when, in fact, he has’stuffed’ the D.A.’s Office with Department of Injustice people, including one top DOJ operative from D.C. who is actually running the’Horseface’ Witch Hunt. Bragg is a (Soros) Racist in Reverse, who is taking his orders from D.C.,” Trump said Sunday.
Others have pointed out that Bragg has been a soft-on-crime prosecutor during his tenure as District Attorney, downgrading most felony charges in his jurisdiction, indicating that he is politically biased if he charges Trump with a felony.

Trump has claimed he is being prosecuted because he has a good chance of winning the 2024 Presidential election.
“I beat them TWICE, doing much better the second time, and despite their DISINFORMATION campaign, they don’t want to run against’TRUMP’ or my GREAT RECORD!,” he alleged.
Trump also encouraged his supporters to protest his anticipated arrest, urging them to ‘take our nation back.’
“THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” Trump said in an all-caps message on Saturday.
Bragg sent a memo to the DA’s office staff saying that he would not “tolerate attempts to intimidate our office.”

“Our law enforcement partners will ensure that any specific or credible threats against the office will be fully investigated and that the proper safeguards are in place so all 1,600 of us have a secure work environment,” Bragg told his office.
