Trouble in Paradise?: View Host Defends Kamala Harris Amid Internal Democrat Divisions
Co-Host of the liberal talk show “The View” Ana Navarro ripped into Democrats on Monday for daring to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris amid Senator Elizabeth Warren’s public spat with the VP.
According to CNN, Warren refused to commit to backing the VP in the 2024 race on a Boston radio show in late January. Warren has called Harris twice to apologize without a response. Navaro commended Harris for the strategy and suggested that she refuse to help fundraise for Warren and any other Democrat to criticize her publicly.

“And you – I love this. I love that they – they said in this story – I don’t know if it’s true – that Kamala’s not – that madam vice president is not responding to the calls from Senator Warren. Good! If they’re going to be doing this, don’t show up to fundraise for them, don’t show up to campaign for them, don’t pick up their phone calls. Get with the program.”
Navarro blasted the democrats for echoing Warrens’s attitude, insisting that Democrats should close ranks around Biden and Harris.
“I don’t know what the hell is wrong with Democrats. Listen, here’s the bottom line, guys. Joe Biden is gonna be your nominee, stop talking about how old he is. And Kamala Harris is gonna be your vice president. So stop fretting, stop wringing your hands and get behind your ticket because on the other side, the alternative is [former President] Donald Trump or [Republican Florida Gov.] Ron DeSantis. So you tell me what you prefer.”
Navarro went on to say that the concerns within the Democratic party about their incumbent 2024 ticket were echoing Fox news and that dissent shouldn’t be tolerated.
“They’re playing right into the hands of Fox News. Fox News every single day goes after Kamala Harris, trying to portray her as inept and some kind of bumbling fool. She’s not! That’s not who she is! And so Democrats have got to come out and reinforce Kamala. They’ve got to stop playing into the hands of people who cannot stand that she is the first woman, the first woman of color vice president and don’t want her to succeed. And by the way, her husband is great too.”
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin attempted to push back on the idea that Harris has had a spotless tenure, noting her part in the failures to control the southern border, but tempered the criticism by blaming a lack of resources.
“She is tasked with overseeing it and the border crisis keeps getting worse, and I feel like the Biden West Wing isn’t necessarily setting her up for success by giving her things that she can go out and champion,”
However, Co-host Sunny Hostin immediately rejected the notion, claiming that Harris is only criticized because she’s “a black woman.” When asked for specific successes by Griffin, Hostin gave a list of factors, all of which had little to do with her actual behavior while holding the VP office, before defaulting to attacking Mike Pence.

“She was in the Senate, of course. She was attorney general. She’s vice president. The Inflation Reduction Act. She was the face of Roe v. Wade. I mean, the list goes on and on. I’d like to ask you, what did [former Vice President Mike] Pence do? What did Pence do except put his lips firmly on the butt of Donald Trump and still is fighting a subpoena to testify against Trump?”
