Boone was charged with 2nd degree murder in the death of her boyfriend Jorge Torres Jr, 42, who died as a result of being left in a locked suitcase for several hours.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office investigators stated the murder happened at the home of Boone and Torres in Winter Park. According to Boone’s version, the couple were drinking alcohol and playing “Hide-N-Seek.” Boone went upstairs and passed out in the bed and was woken up when her cell phone kept ringing.

She then realized that Jorge was “possibly” still in the suitcase. Boone went back downstairs and when she unzipped the suitcase Jorge was still inside, unresponsive, and not breathing. Boone called 911 for paramedics and deputies arrived with them and found Torres deceased.

Investigators were a little suspicious of the story especially after they discovered a couple of videos on Boone’s cell phone showing her recording video as her boyfriend tried to get out of the suitcase.

The first video shows Torres repeatedly yelling out Boone’s name. She reportedly was laughing as he screamed in terror, pleading for help until his final breath, investigators said. “For everything you’ve done to me, [expletive] you! Stupid,” Boone could be heard saying in the video, according to deputies. “That’s on you. Oh, that’s what I feel like when you cheat on me,” she reportedly added.

The second video shows Torres yelling out Boone’s name, and the arrest report said the suitcase was in a different position during the second video.

Boone and Torres are no stranger to law enforcement. They have both been arrested on domestic violence charges against each other in the past with Boone being charged with domestic battery by Strangulation on Torres in 2018.

Boone has also been set to appear before a judge for a pretrial hearing on January 17, 2023, with her trial set for January 30, 2023.
