Trans Activist Tries To Justify ‘Glued Hand’ Protest, Gets Dunked On

A viral tweet thread that shows a trans protestor with her hand glued to the floor of the Oxford Union wearing a shirt that says ‘NO MORE DEAD TRANS KIDS’ and her justification for the protest is being ridiculed by thousands of people.

The person who posted the photo and the thread identifies as a ‘they/them’ and, according to their bio, is an ‘activist, student, professional light-speed gobshite, [and] trans and proud.’. They posted a photo with themself glued to the floor of the Oxford Union and put the caption

This evening I glued my hand to the floor of the Oxford Union debating chamber, wearing a t-shirt which said “NO MORE DEAD TRANS KIDS”, in front of Kathleen Stock during her talk at the Union. Here’s why I felt I had to take this action:

The transgender then creates an entire thread explaining their actions and making an attempt to justify their actions. The thread starts with them saying:

Kathleen Stock is an academic known for her ideas around ‘gender ideology’. I respect Kathleen’s right to free speech, but I’m also painfully aware of the consequences of her anti-trans propaganda. Her career and image is built around misinformation and fear-mongering.

On Tuesday, Kathleen Stock, who is described by some as a ‘gender-critical academic,’ was invited to speak at The Oxford Union debating room. The BBC reports that Stock doesn’t believe her words can be classified as hate speech. She said, ‘It’s not hate speech to say that males cannot be women.’

The transgender activist disagrees, claiming that her message is part of a ‘broader media hate campaign’.The consequences of Stock’s message and the broader media hate campaign are extensive. Trans people in the UK are stigmatised, threatened, and harassed. Life-saving gender-affirming healthcare is near impossible to access, and the process is consistently degrading.

The trans activist claims in their thread that they ‘did not attempt to prevent Kathleen Stock from speaking.’ They also said that ‘she is entitled to her right to free speech.’.

I did not attempt to prevent Kathleen Stock from speaking. Whilst I believe her speech is dangerous and hateful, she is entitled to exercise her right to free speech. I chose to exercise my own Article 10 and 11 rights to peacefully protest this speech.
They then go and accuse Stock of being a ‘Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist’ or TERF, and she is ‘not welcome’ to Oxford, which is one of the most historic colleges for the open exchange of ideas, simply due to her denying the fact that men can not be women, and vice versa.

Kathleen Stock is not welcome here. TERFs are not welcome here. We will resist hatred, and we will fight for trans rights. Trans people, including trans youth, deserve to live in peace, safe from bigotry and harassment, with access to life-saving gender-affirming healthcare.

The thread finishes off with the activist saying that they grieve for their ‘trans siblings’ and that they will continue to fight for ‘trans rights’ and ‘trans futures.’

We grieve for our trans siblings who have lost their lives on waiting lists, we grieve for those who have been murdered, and we grieve for those who died without ever having the freedom to live as their true selves. No more. We will fight for trans rights and trans futures. We will not let the trans youth of the future suffer as we have. We will fight for justice for trans youth, healthcare for trans youth, dignity for trans youth, and joy for trans youth. No more dead trans kids.

People were having a field day at the ridiculous nature of the protest, with many calling out the activist for being a narcissist.

Many others called out the behavior as ‘pitiful’ and ‘pathetic. Many others made jokes about the incident, with one user saying this is ‘a genocide against floorboards’.

It is unclear at this time if Oxford has apologized to Kathleen Stock for the inappropriate behavior during the protest.
