Target CEO Accused of ‘Selling Out LGBTQ+ Community’ by Gavin Newsom

Target is facing backlash from the far-left radical California Governor Gavin Newsom after the company decided to remove certain LGBTQ items from its stores before June due to the backlash they received from customers.

In the official statement, the company claimed that the reason they removed some merchandise was not that they were against the values of the LGBT group but had ‘experienced threats impacting our team members’ sense of safety and well-being while at work’ and because of the ‘volatile circumstances’ from this, they decided to remove the merchandise.

In response to this allegation of threats, many users were skeptical of the accusations, asking the company to show evidence of such threats.

After the announcement from the company, many individuals praised the move, calling it ‘good’ while others disapproved.

One of the most prominent voices to react negatively to the news was California Governor Gavin Newsom, who accused the company and its CEO of  ‘selling out the LGBTQ+ community to extremists’.

In a lengthy tweet, Newsom explains that this kind of ‘attack’ is a systematic attack on the gay community happening across the country.’

The radical governor makes stereotypical assumptions about the South and claims that women, blacks, asians, and jewish people are next.

Newsom fails to mention in his tweet that it’s not just those four groups that have the potential to face ‘systematic attacks’ but any group of race or people can face systemic attacks, with white men and women facing more systemic attacks from society in recent years than before. Some of this racism has been normalized, like the term ‘Karen’ is mainly used for white women showing protest, and white men being the scapegoat for alleged discrimination of other groups, even if this discrimination is done from within the group themselves.

The reaction to Newsom’s unhinged tweet was apparent, with many calling out Newsom for being upset about the wrong things, including how people were upset about Target advertising ‘tuck friendly’ clothes to toddlers since most toddlers can’t even speak properly yet. Still, they are somehow allowed to choose their gender, do irreversible genital mutilation surgery, and do permanent hormone therapy.

Many people reacting to this news are still going to boycott Target, with many saying that this kind of merchandise is so abhorrent that they will never shop at the store again.

According to a recent report by Fox News, an insider from Target told Fox that there were ’emergency calls’ on Friday and that some managers and district senior directors were told to tamp down the Pride sections immediately.

The insider goes on to explain:

We were given 36 hours, told to take all of our Pride stuff, the entire section, and move it into a section that’s a third the size. From the front of the store to the back of the store, you can’t have anything on mannequins and no large signage,

We call our customers ‘guests,’ there is outrage on their part. This year, it is just exponentially more than any other year, I think given the current situation with Bud Light, the company is terrified of a Bud Light situation.

Even with these preventative measures from the company, many individuals have already claimed they will boycott, with people on Twitter saying that it was ‘too late’ for the company to reverse course after the horrendous merchandise they advertised for customers.
